2018 Cosford Airshow

F-32

It was a great show with great weather, a little hazy now and again which made the photography challenging but well worth it!

Here are a few that I've cleaned up so far.

Nice to see some of the static park airframes.

I agree the show started well - it seemed to drag a little towards the end for me - perhaps it was because it had become very warm. 🌞

Most of my shots look like the aircraft are melting with the haze.

I went, but didn't get in until 12:30 (3 hours from Stafford services) so missed all before the Fury.  I presume that the P-47 shot was on its arrival, because it sat out the show and to my disappointment did nothing on departure.  One disappointment was that too many participants seem to the think that a single pass was enough - the A400M being the most disappointing, but there were others.  The Rafale was the star to me, but the Eurofighter was nearly as good.  My wife was at her first display for some years, but having been brought up on the more crowded and varied displays she found it too spaced out and with little excitement.

I was disappointed by the lack of P-47 display as well and was under the impression that the A400M would do a full display. I left just after the Reds as I needed to get home, did the Tornado fly though in the end??

Yup, it did a slower fly-by, and then came back with the wings tucked back and a bit more juice on.

After the Reds only the Typhoon really did anything. The single fly-bys of the Valley Hawks, the Tutors, Atlas and so on all seemed a bit pointless to me given how long they were in the air - it looked like they spent more time over Shawbury! 🤔

I have to admit I went more for the static than the flying (with the exception of the Mig-29) and to see all the Jags!
