eddiesolo
When my health goes through a bad faze modelling tends to take a back seat. However, I managed to get the U-99 model kit cheap and so another sunken u-boat was born. To me this is a nice size to work on and I do not have to worry about mistakes etc and just enjoy it. As some of you know the Revell kit is well...poor, loads of injector marks, flash, too thick railings and slightly warped sections (well on this kit there was) of course for what had in mind...this was not an issue. The model was washed and then cleaned up and assembled with damage added to buckled and bent hull to damaged railings. It was then coated in a undiluted coat of PVA and a very fine sand was added to give some texture. Once dry it painted in red oxide and then I added a pre-shade in satin black to the underside and lower hull to give a more dark appearance. Once all dry various greys and greens were airbrushed, a beige/coral colour added to topsides by sponge dabbing. A brass and aluminium base was then added. eddiesolo
Hi guys. Just thought I would let you all know that this has been sold, I got £27 + postage, it covered the materials, just. Main thing is, I enjoyed making it and it kept my mind and hands busy during a flare up and now someone else can enjoy it. Thanks again for all your comments, means a lot.
