bazer Posted June 7, 2018 Share Posted June 7, 2018 Hi guys next scratch built railguns.The first a 17 cm early railgun used by the germans , a railwagen with outrigers on sides the model is scratch built ,11 inches long and the figures are from ceaser . The second is a 20 cm gun built from 1936 to 1941. during building this gun I came across few pics on internet of this railgun the day after D Day after bombing raids being looked over by a couple of Americans at Cherbourg peninsular. . These guns were placed in round pits on turntables with bunkers all round but amazingly not much damaged done to guns ,and as I did not want a lot of damage to my gun I just bent a few of the handrails,and built a turntable, the gun is entirely scratch built apart from shell hoist ,the bunkers and damage is all from plaster and I added two American figs. 12 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Silenoz Posted June 8, 2018 Share Posted June 8, 2018 (edited) These are both beauties... one thing that bothers me a bit in the first gun is the ammo, carried by the soldiers and stowed next to the gun... it seems very tiny: at approx. 1min04s and 1min54s you can see an empty shell leaving the breach, and at 3min 25s you see 4!! men carrying a shell... Yes you are right ment to replace them when I can get larger shells, the problem with 1 72 scale is you don't have a lot of items to chose from.
