Spitfire31
Exquisite rendering of Sweden's indigenous WWII stop gap fighter. The steel & wood design was subcontracted to some 500 small furniture makers all over Sweden and then assembled in a central Air Force factory, from 1942 and on. The J 22 was said to be 'the world's fastest fighter' – er… relative to engine power, that is. The Pratt & Whitney DC-3 engine was reverse engineered and manufactured in Sweden, patterned after a couple of war spoils engines bought from Nazi Germany. A total of 198 J 22s were made and two survivors are on display in the Swedish Air Force museum outside Linköping and the F 10 Wing museum in Ängelholm, respectively. Really impressive model! Kind regards, Joachim

Jurek Greinert
3 hours ago, Josh G said: How was the build? The correct model as for resin, mine only had a badly cast engine (shifted silicon form - I think). Model has dozen or so parts. Very nice and thin end of the wings. good PE, but there is no scissors for landig gear.
