Paul Bradley
Interesting story at the BBC website of a recently restored and running Renault FT: http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20180531-the-wwi-tank-that-helped-change-warfare-forever Some footage of the driver's compartment and some fascinating close-up footage of the vehicle running - well, crawling...... Good for anyone building the various kits.
Hepster
Great stuff about a charismatic tank type. I suspect interest in the type has been boosted by the news that a working example is to 'guest' appear at Tankfest. The line in the Beeb article that says FT17s were last used in combat in the Arab-Israeli conflict of 1948 might not be strictly correct - I think they were in use by the Iraqi army post-war alongside some ex-German WW2 stuff. Makes you wonder what use they were put to...
