HO/OO Village Church +++ COMPLETED +++

Recommended Posts

Damn spiffing job that man - give yourself a promotion.

You just need to carve the names on the monument, of the Britmodeller fallen.

And the vicars bike: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/108715-brengun-brl72004-bicycle

Or if the vicar has won the lottery (if we can ignore that 'Rich man', 'Kingdom of heaven' stuff (probably just a misprint anyway)): https://www.scalemates.com/kits/120847-pavla-models-72017-robinson-r-22

(That's one way to get him back to aircraft, even if it is only a whirlywhatsit :giggle:)

I need all the support I can get - PLEASE - feel free to tell me I'm not going mad AND I'm doing something useful ;)

You're not going mad AND you are doing something useful. :D

But you are building too fast for me to keep up to date, I'll be back in a little while, once I have caught up with the bits I have missed.

Thats a stunning little diorama.

I think it's great that you've taken what is a very old kit and turned into something rather special.

It's really inspiring to see the recent trend on BM of taking the old Airfix and Frog kits of yesteryear and giving them the TLC that they deserve.

As you'll be able to tell, I'm very impressed with this.

Well done.

Thank you Sir - I'm impressed that your impressed. ;)

Nimrod - I promise I will try to slow down - you never know - my quality might actually improve if I wasn't going at 90mph

Well there is no going back now - I've popped this in the GB Gallery :)

I had trouble getting the exposure right - because it needs to be quite dark for the windows to light up in the photos - but hey lots of fun.

Thanks again for all the nice comments - Steve

What a brilliant build Big X. I know you had a few trials and tribulations, but you overcame them well, and taught me a few things along the way too.

Looking forward to seeing the Windmill now!

Cheers,

Ray

Cheers Ray - I have put the windmill on the 'back burner' for a few weeks - I have been experiencing 'withdrawal symptoms' - as it's been a while since I built an aircraft.  So being a 'lunatic' - I've decided to enter a 1/24 Spitfire - that is really only fir for the bin - the fun goes on...

Games Workshop did a fetching shade of bronze they called Tinbitz (code 61-58) which is now Warplock Bronze. Vallejo did a similar colour (Game Colour 60 - Tinny Tin). I've used both on Warhammmer 40K figures with good results.

Not that I'm trying to encourage you or anything ;)

  • BIG X changed the title to HO/OO Village Church +++ COMPLETED +++
  • 3 weeks later...

Sorry to drag this one back up - but earlier today @Badder - who has some great stuff going on in the diorama section - asked me for a scale shot - with a can of beer or something similar...

...I didn't have any beer or even a tin of Humbrol - so Tamiya to the rescue...

...those Tamiya pots are bigger than I thought

Hi, have either of you ever tried Daler Rowney Acryilic Inks? They're awesome. They do 29ml bottles with pipettes in the lid for around 5 quid. The stuff goes a very long way. And they do a lovely 'Birdwing Bronze.'

Not familiar with them but I'll keep an eye out. I'm a complete magpie when it comes to paint :)
