malpaso
I finished off my KP Mk.Vb Spitfire over the weekend. I did start a WIP but then forgot to update it! Anyway the progress since then was mainly painting. This build is pretty much OOB except for the under side roundel is from an Airfix Vb as the kit decals were missing one (even with their correction additional sheet). I did some light weathering, with a representation of the leakage on the belly common in many Spitfire photos. I will try to do better with the WIP in the classic Airfix GB! Thud4444
Spitfires always look good in colonial markings. Nice model. Did you use charcoal or a drybrush for weathering?
malpaso
@Thud444 the exhaust and powder stains were airbrushed on, 50/50 mix of Tamiya Smoke and Nato Black. The engine leaks were drybrushed, a mix of black and dark earth - I think it night have streaked more effectively (like oil runs) if I'd done it before the matt coat. Another lesson learned. FatFlyHalf
No doubt it was an American aircraft, was there! Stars and bars everywhere.
kapam
Very nice - I'm quite the fan of Vokes-equipped Spitfires. And I do love the khaki/sand style of camo.
