mackem01
I have a Hawker Fury I on the run in for the Centenary GB here. I need some 48th, 30 inch underwing serials and no one seems to do a sheet. What would be the nearest equivalent size-wise if I moved to a 72nd scale sheet??? T.I.A....
BritJet
30 inch in 1/48 would be about 15.8 mm so in 1/72 they'd be about 10.6 mm. Try this scale calculator Steve
mackem01
Sorry, I think I'm confusing everyone. to use Britjet's post as a guide - if in 48th, 30" equates to 15.8mm, what would be the nearest size to 15.8mm in 72nd? Thanks for the quick reply Britjet.

LaurieS
It is simple to calculate the scale dimension of the real thing. An aircraft 14:00 feet long. Just divide that real length dimension by the scale. For 1/48 divide 14 by 48 For 1/72 divide 14 by 72 By the way in 48 scale 30" in the real would not be 15.8mm 30 inches in 1/48 is .625inches 750mm (30" equivalent) 15.6mm Edited May 27, 2018 by LaurieS
