Tornado F.3, 1435 Flight RAF, Mount Pleasant, Falkland Islands 1999, 1/72 Revell

Recommended Posts

Here is my recently finished 1/72 Panavia Tornado F.3 ZG798 "Faith", which served in 1435. Flight at RAF Mount Pleasant, Falkland Islands in 1999.

Model is made of 04375 Revell kit, which in fact is an old (late 1980s) Italeri kit with corrected canopy frame. It has nothing to do with superb Revell's 1/72 Tornado GR.1 - it's very simplyfied, has lot of mistakes and it's hard to build correctly, but it's still the best 1/72 F.3 in shape. I've used Eduard PE set, Pavla's MB Mk.10 ejection seats, some self-made parts (as flares dispensers) and decals (Maltese crosses). Painted with Lifecolor acrylics.

Well done.  This looks the part, the exhaust staining on the fin is very familiar to me and is very realistic.

Looks great.  Not often you see an F.3 build, especially to this high standard.

Very nice model, you wouldn't know the kit has the flaws you pointed out from this build.

Very nicely done, I have built the Tamiya rebox version and the kit is not the easiest but still makes a good representation of the ADV Tonka. You have certainly done it justice.

Looks just like an F.3 Tonka to me. I certainly don't see any inaccuracies whatsoever!

I might have to get one of these.
