vimto
Hi, In anticipation of painting my King Tiger tank tracks I purchased a pot of Tamiya xf-84 dark iron. When opening the pot I was surprised at the colour, more of a light metal colour not the brown rusty colour I was after. A quick Google on the code number seemed to show two colours but both having the xf-84 code?????
Gorby
If your computers screen hasn't been properly calibrated it will be very difficult to check colours on it. I've just had a look on Google as well and the first result is completely wrong, from my swatches it is more like XF-9 (which I think is the nearest to rust in the Tamiya range): The closest I could see to the real XF-84 is this, but I would say that it is a bit darker: Of course both our screen will probably be calibrated differently, but it should give you some guide.
