After the decals were complete and sealed in I gave the whole aircraft a wash with water colour paint which when dry was tidied up with a damp cloth leaving it in all the recesses details on the airframe, after that I have given her a couple of coats of matt varnish to seal everything in and get the finish on the paint I want, and this is how she looks right now; A bit more weathering to do including gun and exhaust staining and some paint chipping and the its the final details like adding the main canopy, wheels, propeller and aerial wires, hopefully I will get her finished by tomorrow. thanks for looking in and as usual all comments and criticisms are gratefully received. I must say that I have enjoyed this build and it will not be my last Wildcat as there are a couple more schemes I want to do including one from Guadalcanal in a virtually identical paint job, though obviously without the large yellow rings around the fuselage insignia. I would also like to build a Tamiya one as a comparison to the Hobby Boss one, not that there is anything wrong with the Hobby Boss kit I would just like to compare the two. Anyway enough waffle here are the pics of the finished Wildcat; And thats it for my entry into this years MTO GB, my sincerest thanks to our hosts for running this GB and to all of you who have commented and helped along the way, I'm really looking forward to to the 3rd installment of the MTO GB in the future!
