stevej60
Hi folk's I bought this kit a year or so ago dirt cheap and it's a perfect opportunity to build the thing,I'm assuming it's Italeri in origin decal's look good scheme will be a challenge,be nice to finish an Italian aircraft the last one was Airfix's Saetta and it was in a poly bag that's how long ago that was! stevej60
Hi folk's started the easy bit of the painting, now I know nothing of Italian colour's so as I needed Azure blue for the Spitfire Vc the only one in any ranges at my LMS was was lifecolour, the instruction's quote the same for this aircraft so that's what I used, two coat's brushed on. I have desert yellow in the box so again using what I have, first coat applied. Edited May 26, 2018 by stevej60

stevej60
Of course now I have to figure a way of replicating the camo!
stevej60
Hi folk's,first attempt at camo epic fail which is just as well,I saw the error in those colour's after more research so a full re-paint toning down the blue and taking the yellow down a notch, white painted so back with another idea for the camo.
Giorgio N
Hope you're still in time to correct the undersurfaces, they were in a light grey with no real blue in them. Something in between RAF medium sea grey and light aircraft grey would be in the right ballpark

PlaStix
Hi Steve. That's such a shame but yeah I understand too. I must admit I wouldn't have even contemplated that scheme! It looks amazing but wayyyy too complicated. Kind regards, Stix
Ted
We do this for fun, better to move on to a more enjoyable build. I've binned a few kits near the end because finish problems made me angry at the world. I did a 1/48 Veltro recently with Mike Grants smoke ring decals. They went on really well, but, even after three coats of Pledge, my mineral-spirits wash dissolved some of the decals. Seems like finishing a model isn't an art or a science, it's a mystery.
Gorby
I also think it would be a shame to bin it as it was looking good. I understand though. I've got a 1/48 205 that keeps getting knocked off the 'up next' status – most because of the smoke rings. I know you can get decals, but I hate decals so if I'm going to try them, they're going to be painted. @tonyot thanks for showing alternatives, if the smoke rings defeat me I'm very tempted to do this one: 58 minutes ago, tonyot said: x
