1/4 Scale Alien "Big chap"

Recommended Posts

I was aware that Neca had released these huge quarter scale figues,(they also do a predator ) and have seen them in a few specialist shops but the £100.00 plus cost, and toy like nature always put me off,However  i was having a look on amazon and saw that they had heavily discounted this fiqure due to packaging damage (its the transluscent suit concept figure) so I took a punt.

On opening the box its clear just how big the fiqure is,(Just shy of 2 feet) and suprisingly heavy as well,it stands well unaided and looks the part,The plan is to pose, glue ,fill and re-paint,make a display base, and bore you all silly with more Alien based shenanigans :)

Planning on leaving the tendons and mouth parts clear(ish) when I re-paint

Cheers

Used a shedfull of Milliput over the last few days :)

slapped a bit of gray paint on him to see how the filling went.

Attempted  to give it a stalking its victim vibe  with the pose.

That's creepy and cool. But is having a two-foot alien in your house *really* a good idea? What if you get up in the night to go to the loo, and come across it by accident? AAAAAAAAH!

I  know it looks like Stompy,(thats right,I call him Stompy), got bored and went to Sunseekers tanning salon on Deck 26 and overdid it,but this is just the first of many coats of various hues of Ink that are going to be applied to his lanky frame.

Started layering in various coats of inks, mainly black, sepia and burnt umber

Time consuming,extremely messy,but strangly relaxing!

wow this looks brilliant - it reminds me of a kit I bought years ago (1992-ish) from Tony James at Comet in Lavender Hill which was cast in black vinyl and looks identical to this kit of yours - it too was the same size so maybe it is the same kit - if so, I remember that the glazed skull hood got tricky but it looks like you are very much in control there and I love your paint job - very realistic exo-skeleton touch

Was it this Bad boy by any chance?

When I got my original back in the day I  thought it was huge,This is a more recent e-bay purchase as I wanted the box.

Its actually a copy of the infamous Kenner Alien action figure released in 1979,Which they couldnt give away at the time,Now,Of course, its a high value collectable.

Good job! I built this some time ago and made a hash of the cowl, for some reason I could not get vinyl to fit correctly. I had issues with the thing standing up, I ended up using the wire articulated tail as third support. It now resides with my wife's nephew.

Well done again!

you may well be right there - it was a long time ago now but my kit was not from that box. It was rectangular and black and blue print - the Halycon boxes were always different

Thats intresting, was it an original kenner?

Been working on Stompy and decided to de-jaw him to ease painting

Bits out and taken apart ,pretty nicely designed

Jaws popped back in and dome painted, went for contrast as I have misted the dome with a dark gray wash
