Ah! This is the same aircraft that Airfix based their original tooling on - just done that as a nostalgic build and found out all the inaccuracies - I'll enjoy watching your build to see how this more modern kit goes together. Cheers. Mike.

Good evening

I changed my mind and this week end I decided to start this build

Some books

I replaced the seat by a CMK one and placed it on the rifgt half fuselage

I also replaced the instrument panel by Yahuu models one

I also cemented the upper and lower wings

Good morning Tony and all the others following my build

When you will build this kit be careful if you want to replace the instrument panel by the Yahu one like I did because this part is clearly not designed for the Special Hobby kit as it is too big and I had to cut away some plastic on the 2 fuselage halves I also reduced the rudder pedals  in order to place it ...

To be continued ...

Bonsoir Patrice,

Good looking kit, and a fast, very clean build.

All the right boxes are ticked!

Excellent.

I agree with all the others Patrice. It didn't take long to get to this stage which sounds like all the makings of a good kit.

Paint colours look nice with the evidence of pre-shading still showing.  Not an easy thing to achieve with a brush I'd say.

Cheers.. Dave

Good morning Dave

Thank you for your comment ..

I started by painting a coat of Mid Stone all over the upper surfaces and when it was dry I applied a coat of Dark Earth yesterday evening  .

If I have enough time today I will apply another  coat of Mid Stone ..

Best regards

Patrice

Next time I will have to work on the windscreen fuselage  joint and make some paint here and there..

Bonsoir Patrice,

your 2 Mustangs and this P-40 are all iconic aircraft. The P-40 is looking real good and I am sure the Mustangs will not disappoint!

Great show on all fronts!
