cmatthewbacon
Hi, all... can anyone enlighten me? If I already have the SAM Datafile on, say, the Mosquito, is there any reason to acquire the Valiant Wings A&M volume on the same subject? They seem similar in concept, and personnel, but if the A&M's are a thoroughly revised Mk.2 version than maybe an upgrade is in order... best, M. LotusArenco
The only Airframe & Miniature I have is the Me262 one which is an excellent book. If the Mosquito one is similar, I’d buy it without a second doubt. You can never have too many reference books! Mart
markp58
I can enlighten you. The SAM datafile on the Mosquito was published in 1998. Aside of a front cover change and some extra model builds gleaned from magazine articles the second edition is virtually the same as the original. The Airframe & Miniature volumes are completely new with fresh information not available twenty years ago. The weight of information available dictated the need to produce two volumes on the subject. The specially commissioned model builds are of newer tool kits more recently available. Hope this helps.
Tony C
I have both Datafiles and both Airframe & Miniature books and all have their qualities and I didn’t find too much duplication.
