Sometimes buying stuff is almost as fun as building. I just received these from Hannants. The Special Hobby kit looks excellent at first glance. I've wanted the pilot figures from PJ Productions for a long time. The 1/48 Belgian decals are for a Sopwith Camel project on my to-do list.

nothing followed me home today, but I have built the MS type N from SH and you will not be disappointed! Great little kit and a great little plane albeit prone to overheating!

Thanks, I haven't built a Special Hobby model yet but the kit does look good at first glance.

You will enjoy it, Ted. I also built the Bristol M1c which turned out nicely, and I have the Nieuport Bebé waiting to be started sometime in the future. More resin parts in the latter, but the detail is nice throughout all 3 kits. I cannot think of any issues I had with the MS type N, but if I do I will give you a heads up. Have a nice weekend.

Special Hobbies beautiful Morane N is on my wish list, too!

I have been given a Revell 1/48 scale Dr 1 and came across the same kit for £7 in a news agent.  I am trying out the Montex mask for the Dr 1 which comes with two sets of markings.  Then I had to buy the Aviatic brush effect decals. So that is a lot of firsts.

The bigest problem is trying to cover the bright red plastic that the kit is moulded in!

I may have purchased a 1/48 Siemens Suchert DIII on ebay. It' s  going to join a long que as I am presently scratchbuilding a pup,  I have an airfix BE2c up next, then a Nieuport 11, an SE5, an Albatross DIII (although I'm thinking it might end up as a DI), a Fokker EIII, a DH2, a Dh4, a DH4a, and the parts started for a scratch build Pfalz DRI (and possibly a DVI as well)  all in 1/48 except the BE2c and the Eindekker.

Nothing followed me home …. but last week I was ill with a stomach bug, and as my good lady was going into town I asked if she could pick up a can of varnish from my local porn store- I mean model shop. She did indeed bring the can home, but also surprised me with the Takom mk1 Female tank AND the Roden Holt 75 Tractor, both of which were on my wish list.

...do I really have to explain in detail how much I love her?? 😍

Picked up the Special Hobbe Ni-10 tow seater and Copper State Armstrong-Whitworth F.K.8 (premium edition). I have been experimenting with rigging and want to get proficient before I tackle the multi strut aircraft.  I have gotten pretty good with the ones that have connected struts (like the Neiports) but I fear those Brit planes with 8 struts.

It didn't follow me home, but when I went into town yesterday I found an Avalon "Colourful Camels" sheet had arrived in my mail box from the Big H. Looks every bit as good as it did on the screen, and gives me an excuse to drag out my Eduard 1:48 Camel!

Dragon's 1/48 SPAD 13 with 1/12 Rickenbacker bust from the LHS. Funny thing is I was searching the Interwebs for that kit but couldn't find it for anything but stupid prices. As a consolation, I went to the LHS to see if they had the Aeromaster sheet with his markings--that search failed too. I was happily surprised to see they had the kit on their shelf. they also have (had?) the Frank Luke boxing.

Not received today, but in my stash.

Planet Models 1/48 Loening M-8, Thomas Morse Scout S-4C

Eduard 1/48 Fokker D.VII, D.VIII, E.V (Weekend), Nieuport 17, Sopwith F.1 Camel

Roden 1/48 de Havilland D.H.4A, Nieuport 28 C.1

A rather large box arrived today courtesy of @Duncan B

It may take me some time to work up the courage for this one. :)

Funnily enough the other version of this arrived with me a month or two ago and it is sat on my shelf eying me slightly threateningly.

Thinking about setting it on a Lighter, anyone got any descent drawings of one? I have the Cross and Cockade ones.

I bought this from a stall holder at Telford for £75 in the last hour of the show on the Sunday.  It came with a set of fabric style seat belts too.  👍🏻

Following me around in the car at the moment is a Shorts 184 propellor blade that we really need to bring in and mount indoors somewhere in this, the worlds smallest flat (not really, but it feels it sometimes).

The blade is one of several that, some years back, made up a garden fence in Lee on Solent. It does have some water damage, but some careful work with a good finish would work wonders. I may poly it to stabilise it and then shellac, or possibly not, it depends on how it looks.

What a find!

The post-Christmas bargain season being very much upon us over the last few weeks I've accumulated a few 1/48 Eduard goodies at extremely advantageous prices: the SE5a, Nieuport 17 and Camel in their Revell boxings, and the Albatros D.III in Eduard Weekend form. At a total cost of under £40 delivered for all four, I am very pleased with the haul.

Just picked up 3 Copper State kits:

AEG C.IV

Rumpler C.I

Lohner B.II

Good deal on them so thought I would give resin kits a go.  I could be wrong but had not seen these specific planes in plastic.  I know the direction are poor but I don't want to opt for an extra ~$40+ for Winsock books but hopefully I can find something useful on the web.  I love the Wing Nut Wings instructions you can look at online for other projects but doubt these aircraft (or something close) are there.  Any suggestions for other online source material?

This should go nicely with my 1/72 Roden Felixstowe.

I haven't seen that paint set before, have you used it yet?
