Mike Esposito
Whats wrong with the Hasegawa kit? What we need is a F-4C/D in 1/72... Haven't seen one in years...
Dennis_C
How much were IDF Phantoms as used in 70s (basically standard E?) were different from EJ Kai? I think if differences are minimal then this Platz kit is going to my stash...
Laurent
Potential good news: I hope that the surface detailing will be more restrained than the on of the F-15J.

Not much wrong with the Hase kit, apart from some fit issues and the use of decals for instrument panels, but Platz is doing all the kits serving in the JASDF so makes sense that they add this one. It will sell well for sure. 4 hours ago, Dennis_C said: How much were IDF Phantoms as used in 70s (basically standard E?) were different from EJ Kai? The original EJ was very similar to the early unslatted wing Es, but had the definitive longer gun fairing (that was also seen on some unslatted Es). The Kai upgrade adds additional antennas on the wingtip and tail and reinforcement strips on the radome. Overall I'd say it should be quite easy to build a '70s IDF aircraft, with the caveat of the gun fairing
PhantomBigStu
@Mike Esposito italeri reissued the Esci D last year which is available are all good stockists, though I agree a newer tool wouldn't go amiss
