Rui Silva
Hi Bosse, White Port is better served chilled, keep a bottle in the fridge (between 6 and 7ºC) and drink it before meals as an apéritif. A nice weekend to all! Edited July 20, 2018 by Rui Silva spelling

Marlin
Hello. Hi. Since I now have received my brass static dischargers it's time to continue with the Flanker. The cut for the discharger should be 1x0,4mm.080 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The first was too wide and too long. 081 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Tiny pieces. 082 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr After the first two I got better with my cuts.083 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr These five took me over two hours to do. And after that my eyes was to tired to continue, so I'll do the seven remaining ones later on. To be continued..... /Bosse 2

Marlin
Thanks Håkan. Yesterday I got five more dischargers in place.084 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr085 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I dropped two on the floor, and that satisfied the carpet monster. I also bent two, so I it was good that I bought an extra set of dischargers. When I did this my son & daughter surprised me with some dinner. 086 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Fried tuna with mushroom risotto, it was fantastic. Now will my Flanker have to rest for a few days. I going to the summercottage this afternoon for a few more days of vaccation. To be continued..... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. I've now replaced all the twelve static dischargers with Masters brass variants, and it's time to start to paint my Flanker.087 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I've so far done two coats of AKAN No 73035 Light Blue on the underside. And as the paints dry I started with some decals for the missiles, pylons and rails.088 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I used the kit decals, and I didn't like the matt finish on them, so I dug out my Begemot Su-35 sheet and started over. 089 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr This looks much better, so I'll use the Begemot sheet on this build. Marlin
Hi. Another weekend has passed, and today my youngest starts 8th grade. So I guess it's back to normal now. I passed the weekend with some model building, and the first pre-season hockey games. My Flanker has got it's light blue underside painted and it's now drying. And when paint is drying it's always good to start with some stencils. First I did the R77's090 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr091 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr092 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 44 decals, 11 per missile. And that took all friday evening. Saturday was the first icehockey match.093 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr A neighbouring club had invited "my" team and two other clubs for a two day mini cup. And "my" team did win the cup on sunday. After a whole day (2 hockeygames) at the ice rink I came home to contiune with the decals.094 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr This time the R27's 36 decals, 9 per missile.095 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr But time wasn't sufficent to get them done. And sunday was spent at the ice rink again and when I got home I had no time to continue. But the plan for todays is to get the R27's done and start on the R73's. To be continued..... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. I finished the R27's yesterday.096 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr097 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And now I've got two R73's to do before I'm done with the ordnance.098 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The decals I've cut are for four missiles, but I'm only using two since I'll have the jamming pods on the wingtips. Nothing will happen on the build for a few days, since I'm going to Helsinki on a business trip tomorrow. I've an early flight so the taxi will pick me up at 05.00 tomorrow. So I better make an early night this evening. And tomorrow I'll not be home until late, and then it's no idea to continue building. To be continued.... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. I'm back again. And the last of the stencils are in place on the R73's099 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 18 stencils per missile, crazy..... And with this the ordnance and pylons are done.100 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr A total of 140 stencils all in all. This afternoon I'll return to the cottage to see how it looks now. The kitchen floor have been taken out during the week and now I'll be able to assess how much work it'll take to build me a new kitchen. To be continued...... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. Since the ordnance is done, and the lower part of the Flanker has had ample time to dry, it's time for some camo. I'll start with the same light blue as on the underside.101 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 20 minutes drying time, and the next blue goes on.102 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Add another 20 minutes for some light grey.103 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Right now it almost looks like the same colours, but I think they'll separate when I've done two or three more coats. Painting will be my task for the coming days. To be continued..... /Bosse Ps. The damaged to the kitchen floor as much lesser than I had expected. No water had gone under the floorboards and the insulation was dry. 025 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr So I guess the insurance company is as happy as I am. But we'll rip evertyhing out anyway. I'll build a new floor the coming weekends, and next spring we'll build a new kitchen with new appliances. Ds.

Marlin
Hi Werner, Akan is rather thin so I normally have to use three to four coats to get good coverage. The kitchen will be completly rebuilt, with new plumbing and wiring, during the winter and spring. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. Another weekend has passed, and this weekend in the cottage was cut short. We arrived late fridays evening and fixed some dinner.105 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr A Västerbotten cheese pie with some bleak roe, chopped red onion and creme fraiche. Absolutely fabulous. On saturday morning we discovered that the septic tank was full, and without the possibilty to use the toilet we went home again. So now I got the whole saturday at the worktable instead of taking down the kitchen cabinets in the cottage. So I got some more work done on my Flanker.106 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The camouflage is done, three coats was used. When that had dried I started to paint the areas now painted in the camouflage. The forward parts of the stabilators are some unpainted composite material.107 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Black metallic seams to be the right colour. The leading edge will be painted stainless steel at some later stage. I also painted the area around the canon with some metallic colour.108 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr When that was done it was time for dinner, and too much wine to continue bulding. 109 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Venison cuts with champignions, green pepper sauce, potato gratin and wax beans. Most satisfying. To be continued..... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. I've not had much time this week to work on my Flanker. Right now I'm masking all the radio panels.110 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I didn't know that there were so many panel, so it take some time to mask them all. Marlin
Hi. I've now painted most of the radio panels. I did have some leakage here and there that I'll have to fix. 111 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr But when this done I think it's time to start masking the metallic areas. Marlin
Hi, My Su-35 got some attention this weekend. I've started to paint the metal areas around the engines, top side first.112 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 'The under side is a bit more complicated, so I'll do that side when the top side is done. To be continued..... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. Now that I've finished my F-84 I'll concentrate on the Su-35. I've got a small chance of completing this before New Years Day. But if that's to happen I've got some work before me. At the moment I'm doing the burnt metal areas around the engines.113 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The topside is almost done. And I've started to mask the underside.114 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr115 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I've got some more masking to do before I can paint this in a silver colour, and then I'll have to mask some more and paint more metallic black. And after that I'll have to do the exhausts. To be continued..... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi, The first of the two main metal colours are done. 116 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr So lets bring out more tape and start masking again. To be continued...... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. I'm finished with the metal colours on the underside. I did have some paintlifting from the tape, but nothing serious.117 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And with that it's high time to get the exhausts done.118 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I think this will be a right pose for them.119 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr To be continued..... /Bosse
