Marlin
Hi. I've now done both sides on the Su-35.2019-01-09_07-54-38 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr2019-01-09_07-54-45 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Begemots decal are really hard to get loose from the backing paper. So the whole process is taking some time. But when you do get them off they go down really well on the model, and no silvering yet. I think I'll continue with the top side this evening. Marlin
Hi. My eldest is back in Vienna, and now I've got some time for modelling. I've finished the decals on the Su-35, and sealed them with a clear coat.126 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr No so many stencils on a Flanker E.127 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr128 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Underside.129 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr130 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I'll leave it to rest some days, and then I'll matt coat it. Marlin
Hi, My summer project this year is to clear up the mess on my worktable and to finish as many ongoing builds I can. So last evening I did some more work on the Flanker. The undercarriage is in place. 131 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 132 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 133 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The wheelcovers went on as well, I've got some touch-up painting still to do. 134 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And the flaps, which did involve some sanding to get them in place. 135 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Tonight I think I'll do some touch-up painting and perhaps hang a missile or two. How old is he nowadays, like 16 and a half...? Wow, time real flies. I recall back in 2010 he was just a toddler rejoicing in the bliss of living without any responsibilities at all. Has he taken on any modelling like his old paps? Very nice build, by the way, Bosse, my good mate in Vasby. That kit is so nice I'm trying not to succumb to getting it. He spent 9 months in Vienna, but he's home again and will start law school in September. BTW? Did the missile rails ever get to you in Argentina? /Bosse

Remember there's a whole plethora of the Ruskie ordnance which come in the Kitty Hawk Su-17 and Trumpy Su-24 1/48 kits at your disposal should you ever need 'em; that's a lot of fuel tanks, pods and things that go "ka-boom" Cheers Bosse, Unc2
Marlin
Great, Good to know Unc2. As for Ruskie weapons I think I'm set for the moment. I just bought Kitty Hawks Su-34, and that's loaded for a whole squadron. But thanks anyway. /Bosse

Think the 1/48 Kitty Hawk/Hobby Boss kits are actually weapons sets with aircraft kits included.
Maxwellphillips
Looks good! Russian jets are my favourite I think. It's going back a bit now, but how did you do the composite leading edges? Is that a decal?
Marlin
Hi Maxwellphillips. The composite sections have been painted with Akan 76029 Black Steel. @Unc2 - I couldn't agree more with you. /Bosse

Marlin
Hi. I did some more work on my Su-35 yesterday. The exhausts are now in place. Marlin
Hi Since I'm home with a cold I'm planing to finish some of my ongoing builds. So I did some work on the Su-35 to day. I've only got the parts in and around the cockpit left to do 146 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Unfortunally I discovered that I've missed painting the part behind the canopy. exdraken
Nice! Yeah looks a bit strangely grey behind the cockpit Speaking of colors, did you do anything else on the nozzles? They look a bit bare... and single colored
Marlin
Thanks Werner. I've not done anything more on the yet... But I'll play with Tamiyas make up sets on them just before it goes into the display cabinet. /Bosse

Marlin
Hi. This is the penultimate updates of this thread. I had some time to play with Tamiyas make up boxes on the exhausts during the weekend. 20190928_150719 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 20190928_151227 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I think it turned out OK. I've only got the canopy to fix now. I hadn't the time to matt coat it, but I plan to do this this evening. And then this bird will fly to the display cabinet. Marlin
Hi, I'm running a nursing home at the moment, myself, my wife and our youngest are down with some kind of bug. On monday before the fever set in I clued the last parts to my Flanker. 150 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 151 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 152 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And then I could place it in the display cabinet. 153 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 154 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 155 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 156 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And if I've counted correctly this is my fifth finished build for the year. Always nice when a build that has taken too long a time gets finished. Would I build another one? O Yes, but not right now. /Bosse
