And my local dealer managed to supply me with one of the 2999 of the first press.
So I got the bonus tinted canopy sprue.

This is what I'll entertain myself with for the coming months.
And with the Icehockey World Championship on the TV tonight, I'll start at once with some primer on a large number of parts.

I'll use AKAN's acrylics on this aircraft, brushpainted as always.

To be continued.....

Hi,
Muzz was kind to answer in my new colour thread about the Su-35, so that is now sorted, thanks again Muzz. :D

But I'm sure I'll return to that thread to find out more abbout the right AKAN paints for the different parts on this aircraft.

I've discovered some small seams on the missiles that I have to clean up before painting them.
40182799210_a228906430_h.jpg017 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
Not much, but they'll show when painted if not removed before.

I've also started to paint the cockpit parts.
41089759655_0a81cea242_h.jpg018 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
AKAN #73069, Sukhoi blue/grey, the right cockpitcolour straight from the bottle. :D

Today I'm planing on continuing with the cockpit, wheel wells, air ducts, and other bits.
I'll also have some missiles to clean up, but that I can do infront of the tv during tonights hockeygame in the World Championsship.

To be continued.....

But... why you don't try with an airbrush?

The day our mate Bosse finally tries out an airbrush is going to be the day he trashes out every single build he's got already built on display, methinks...

Yeh, it is.

Well, certainly, my good mate in beautiful Sweden; I've just seen how neat your surgeries are carried out on yer builds, that I can only wonder how good your skills would be if you had an airbrush at hand to paint your rather - expensive - kits with.

It's much like what I feel whenever I watch at one of my completed builds sitting in the display case after I've finished the same kit with the new aftermarket correction sets available to it. I'm sure even little Axel would benefit from having an airbrush at hand.

Think about it, Bosse - you're one hell of a good modeller - the only thing I can think of that would better your work as a modeller would be your getting an airbrush. Then, you've got the skills, the quid and the patience on your side.

With all due respect, my bruh; but whenever I think of your having gotten the AMK Foxhound to brushpaint it, I'm like... :fraidnot:

Well, as I've said earlier.

I don't have the space for an airbrush set up, so let's just leave it at that.

I might better my painting skills with a airbrush or I might not.

But I've been brush painting for over 40 years, and I like it.

I left ARC because all the small little hints about an airbrush.

I don't like to have to leave this site as well........

Oh, please don't leave this site. Mine was just a suggestion, anything but that. Besides, we both know ARC is quite a different site than this one.

No problem Unc,

I'm not about to leave.

I just find it funny that the general rules should be an airbrush for painting.

I don't think Leonardo Da Vinci used one, but I guess he might, had he had the chance. :D

Hi.
What a fantastic weekend we've had in our cottage this weekend.
Summer temperatures of over +25C and no rain the whole weekend.
Of course we had to have a barbeque.

My wife planted some geraniums in our garden.

I awarded her the Recycling Award of 2018.
Why throw away an almost new barbeque just because you don't want it anymore? :D

Axel and I felt that we could also do something, so we built a deck chair from recycled wood.
28213826898_6fdc19fef9_h.jpg006 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr

It'll be painted in the same colour we used on the one we built last year.

So don't throw away wood pallets, make something new and useful of them instead.
Well even a fantastic weekend comes to an end and it was time to go home again.

When I got home I continued on the ordnance for the Su-35.
I've cleaned up all seams now, and they're ready for some primer.

Hi,

We're in a bit of a heatwave here in Sweden with temperatures over +25C.
But don't think the heat has stopped me from working on my Su-35.
I've been looking for the right colours to paint all the small bits that will go in the wheel wells, and glueing some sub sections.
41537245034_9cb434330d_h.jpg021 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
The small bits are just about ready to for glueing in place.

The ejection seat is almost complete.

The cockpit is taking shape.

27388177557_ed7dc512f9_h.jpg025 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
I've painted the fuel lines in the wells.

40451900990_3a0a9bbfe5_h.jpg026 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
The missiles have been sprayed white from a spray can.
I do this on the balcony, because I can't spray indoors.

42212351012_167366aa22_h.jpg027 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
I've glued the fins together, and the wheels are waiting for some paint.

The engine nacelles and air channels have been painted on the inside.

27388193717_40ba5c7e7e_h.jpg031 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
The engine fans and exhaust have also been painted.

And there is where I'm today.
Now the plan is to get these subsections inside the fuselage during the next couple of days.

To be continued.....

I really like the piping and plumbing plastic parts.  :D
I'm trying to use AKAN colours as much as I can, but I don't have them all so some Humbrol colours have also been used.

Only dry fitted, looks very promising.

27436138087_a16f5f5354_h.jpg035 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
Glued and clamped.

I think I'll have the nose gear well and the intake channels done before the weekend.
To be continued.....

Yesterday I continued with the fans and intakes.

27467794527_4928647783_h.jpg037 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
The fan looks nice, and it's a two part piece.

28464383708_2f548bad1b_h.jpg038 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
But I guess not much will be seen when all parts are put togehter.

28464385498_5438ff5dac_h.jpg039 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
Both subsections was then glued in place in their respective gondola.

And that was what I had time for yesterday.

To be continued.....

Nose gear well with cabling.

27567964157_08c97b859f_h.jpg042 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
The radar parts, I've not deceided yet if I'm going to use them or not.

41714896594_46cf846674_h.jpg043 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
I glued the slats together, mostly because they were the only parts left on that sprue.

42387742092_cce14a0e62_h.jpg044 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
Exhausts, a four piece job each.

42438141811_f4d4bad77b_h.jpg045 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
I've glued the nosegear well in place.

42387747322_437cb21f1c_h.jpg046 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr
The intakes are ready for some paint.

And with that it's almost time to glue everything together.
To be continued.....
