Cor! she's a big girl even at 1/700, :nodding: 475mm by my calculations

Is that the Ghost Rider squadron. Good luck with the masking

When I was at sea, I saw the Nimitz come over the horizon, thought it was a block of flats which was confusing as we were in the middle of the Sargasso Sea

"And yes I know i have others to finish of still"

They will still be there when your ready ....

The USN carriers are huge.  Here's a few photos I took of Roosevelt & Washington during  trip to Norfolk, VA in 2006 .

A great looking model beefy.

During a visit to the Norfolk navy base in 2006, both CVN 71 & 73 were docked.  Here's one of my photos of the crane on Roosevelt showing the cable wires.

Is that an aggressor squadron Hornet?

Judging by the crescent on the tail, this jet was assigned to Fighter Squadron Composite Twelve (VFC-12).  From what I can find, VFC-12 is an adversary training squadron based at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  Oceana supplies fighter aircraft squadrons to the USN's Atlantic Fleet.

From my photo, I'm guessing this is an deactivated jet since its ejection seat, engines, landing gear doors, & possibly the rudders have been removed.  This jet might have been used for Roosevelt's crew training, e.g fire fighting.

Very nice!  Great detailing, & at such a small scale too.

i'm not exactly sure when the USN changed the colour of their carrier deck vehicles from yellow to white.  I'm thinking it was either in the late '80's or early '90's.  Today all deck vehicles are painted white.  Here's link to an interesting paper regarding USN carrier deck tractors - http://www.tankograd.com/html/img/pool/MO-Aircraft-Carrier Tractor.pdf

Spent some time on USS Harry S Truman in 2012. Accommodation right under the arrestor wires; charming. The aircraft were quite 'weathered' so I wouldn't worry too much about a missed decal here and there. That would be my excuse anyway.

Very nice conclusion to a fine build nearly.

I am disappointed that you didn't take advantage of  the clear plastic planes and do some internal detail lol🤣

Cheers
