Me too, rats! If I'd known you were there we could have had a coffee... next time, hopefully :)

Good luck with the masking, very brave to do the whole lot.

Crikey Shellie, you're spraying all the white stripes? Brave! I certainly have my fingers crossed for you :)

I have to say spraying the white stripes seemed like a good idea.....until I got to unmasking. At this point I was rather worried what I would find underneath, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Not too shabby (I hope!), Tonight I plan to gloss varnish the Red Arrow 😊

I am almost speechless! That masking turned out fantastic. I have to admit I had my doubts as to whether you would get away with it.

Result!!

So which year, or style of décor?

Is this blue "Royal Air Force" lettering on the white stripe?

And a blue stripe on the rudder?

That was an excellent bit of masking/painting!

Thank you, it is indeed blue rudder and lettering on the white stripe.

Thanks again

Michelle.

Last night I began applying the decals onto the Hawk, for this I used my trusty favourite micro sol. I have to say the decals went on well, and on inspection today all seems ok🙂

Now for the stand: I have managed to find the wooden lid from a coffee jar, which I have sanded the dark varnish off.

Using Milliput I have filled the groove where the rubber suction band used to be, and once dry I plan to sand it down and paint it silver.

Moving along nicely I think, later I will gloss varnish the Hawk again to seal in the decals and give her a sparkly finish.

Sounds like a high -risk strategy to me!

Do you have clearance?😂

The Hawk is looking really smart👍

Wow, great work on the stripes and transfers Shellie.

Coffee jar lid? Where are you going to keep your coffee now? :D

Thank you! Well, it's not strictly my coffee jar lid, it's from an old set that belonged to a friend of mine.......I have the sugar jar lid too, incase I make a mistake. I'm happy to say my coffee, tea and sugar jars are still in tact........at the moment 😉

Thanks again Ced, hope to bump into you soon at another show.

Michelle.

I'm hoping to be there, on the Romsey Club table.

There were quite a few hands went up at the meeting, so we might be over -manned!

Maybe BM-ers need a special handshake or something....

So, will this little Hawk be done and on a table...?😃

Ah, spare jars eh? Good news...

Are you going to the Salisbury show on 2nd June? I couldn't see any information on here from the organisers so I posted a thread.

We have discussed calling in on our way back from our half term hols......I will keep you posted.
