Agreed. The panel line needs to be moved aft to a few scale inches forward of the intake lip, anyway, so there's no need to try to preserve it in its present position.

But I’ll try to preserve it with a front part of the plate by cutting an area between an intake and the hinge 🤨 Maybe, it’s because of I don’t like the simple solutions...

You've done a great job fixing the intakes! Of course you realize that once you finish the model, someone will release some resin drop-in replacement intakes. At least, that's how my luck usually runs! 😁

Thanks Ben! 🤝 The Kitty Hawk’s engineers can do this very simple, too. They’re can be done it with their forthcoming RF-101, but...

I would prefer they make replacement canopies. Nikolai has shown how to fix the intakes. The flat spot on the canopy bow is a different matter.

Well @bentwaters81tfw, I’ll look at the problem after the final fixing of the intakes. Maybe, a hot water with some portion of the fortune helps?! 😋

Cheers guys, thanks for an interest! 😎

I think a vacform replacement is the only answer. I asked Squadron - not interested. I asked Falcon and the guy who bought C&H - no answer. The C&H conversion comes with a correct vac canopy. I will end up getting this used as a master for someone to vacform or crash mould my canopies.

This sounds like these companies are not interested in some customers... There’s not so much work here for the factory conversion makers, I think.

Meanwhile...

An intakes are ready to cut (again) and my little saw are ready, too:

Cutting done within a few minutes:

So, not so bad:

Dry-fitting looks well and further sanding makes the hinge closer to the lip:

Yeah! 🤗

P.S. Seven times to cut, one time to measure - that’s how it works 😜

Hello Britmodellers and «Voodoo» lovers!

After some glueing I decided to use a some styrene chip instead of a putty:

The starboard side intake looks very good now:

And the port board side looks like this:

Actually, the splitter plates needs some putty after all 😮

What about these tiny PE parts №№1-7, @bentwaters81tfw? The manual says that I need to use all the seven, but it’s a lot for a short intakes, I suggest:

Cheers! 🙃

I'll let you into a secret. I'm not going to use any of them.

😂 Anyway, I’ll try it!

Thanks, it’s will be not so possible without your assistance!

Cheers!

Good luck, Nikolay!.

I really hope it works for you.

I see what you mean about "7 is too many".

I have no idea how the smaller door is fixed.

My opinion is if you get the 3 at the front edge, who can even SEE what is behind??👍

Yes Rob, I feel the same. I’ll install first three for the start... 😉

I'm a bit stuck as the nose side is now paper thin but there is still a bad join. I'm working away for a few days so it is sitting in the corner of the model room while I think what to do. As always you are an inspiration.

That German build Voodoo is pretty impressive, nicht war?!

His mates are pretty impressed too.

Don't understand it all, but I got most of it. Looks like he used Ali foil of some kind.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, @Silver Fox.

Just the nose cone, or the front fuselage section?

Nikolay, the intake work is great!

He's done a first rate job on that........just a little but too shiny. 😎

Yes, and the author said the same 🙂

Nice work cutting and joining the splitter plate again! :)

Thanks Håkan! I hope it would be a final attempt, because I need to moves forward.

Take a picture @Silver Fox and we’ll sort it together 😉 Don’t worry, you can get a pause and do the small things with a landing gear or some other parts...

Thank you for this kind of words, but I’m not so inspired with this build, sometimes 🤔

Sure thing! It looks very accurate and shiny and I think I can’t do the final painting job in that impressive way...

Yay, it’s aluminum foil as he said. I feel the need to try it too (after your work Rob, too) 😁

To my eye, Koster's canopy looked a little better than C&H's. I read that these guys bought Koster's masters. Perhaps they could be persuaded to release a correction canopy & windscreen based on the Koster canopy? If they were to only release the clear parts for the RF-101 conversion, one could still use it with a Monogram windscreen. It fits almost perfectly.

Cheers!

OK, guys!

The wings attached today, I think it’s very good build update.

The port side:

The starboard side:

The Bird:

Here you can see a small dent above the back of the splitter plate... This happened during an excessive fixation force. It’s fixable 😉

Cheers! 🙂

I'm sure the dent is easy to fix.

Yes, but I noticed another one - on the opposite side - under the starboard side intake... OK, putty here and putty there 🤓
