It was the oxigene hose for the bomb aimer. 😁 It is difficult to see, but I painted the breathing maschine in blue. Cheers,
Arniec
The engines are on with some persuasion and again I need some filler. Here are two pictures of it. She is progressing slowly, but it goes on. Cheers,
trickyrich
it seems to be common thing with all Me-262 models, that engine/wing join. I've yet to see one model were that doesn't cause issue, I've seen and had the same issues with the Arado-234 as well. No matter how much test fitting you do you always end up having to use filler.
Arniec
I have made a little progress today with putting the canopies on. At the nose it needed some clamping. After the glue has dried I can do some masking before it is ready for some paint. Cheers,
Mike
Makes me glad I didn't have to build my Dragon version of the one I'm building now. Good progress though, and I'm gonna have to do a Mistel myself one of these days. I quite fancy the Ju.88 based one with the honking great warhead where the cockpit was. Keep up the good work whipping her into shape
trickyrich
She does seem to be fighting you a wee bit. At least it wasn’t the canopy section you had to clamp, that could have ended in tears!
Pete in Lincs
They are coming along very nicely. I think they would be humming the 'mission impossible' them tune on take off. Odd that the trolley rockets are different sizes. Also, the lumpy bit on the front of the rocket, I always understood that it was a parachute. It would be awkward to deploy it to slow the trolley from that position.
Arniec
If I am not mistaken, there is another parachute pack underneath the end frame. This was used for slowing the trolley. The one one the rocketpack isn't used. The rocketpack was a standard version. The difference in size is because Dragon used a pack that was with less power than it should be. Arniec
Hi guys, I have painted the Trolley in the last week and I hope to start the painting on the two Me-262's They will have almost the same paint scheme, but still different. Here are the pictures of the trolley. I painted in RLM 02 from Tamiya with some wash and detail-painting. That is it for now. Cheers,
trickyrich
gee you did a nice job o that, it's almost a model in itself. Gosh if the rocket wasn't aligned just right or broke its mount, you could be in a world of trouble!
Arniec
Thanks Rich and to be honest it is a own kit. Luckily with not to many parts. Here is what I have done in the last two days. I started painting both models. Here are the models masked and ready for their first paint. The nose of the bomb was already painted RLM02. Here is the underside painted of the bomb. I already taped the engines for the over-spray. And now the top side done with RLM82 and a own mix of RLM81 Braun violet. I have that mix for a very long time, so how I didi it, I don't know anymore. The rods have I painted in slate grey to get some contrast with the rest of RLM02 Here is the underside of the bomber. O, I also painted the canopies RLM66 before I did the underside. Here is the top side of the bomber. I used the standard RLM81 from Gunze and also again the RLM82. I will give it a coat of Klear in a minute, so I can soon start the decalling. That is it for now. Arniec
She is finally finished. I had in the end some problems with putting the bomber on top. I almost threw it against the wall. She fought with me all along the build. She is not perfect, but it will do. Here are some pictures, the rest will go in the Gallery. trickyrich
well done Arnold on a beautifully presented model/s and a clever balancing act! I've tried to do things like that before and they've ended in tears and lots of swearing, so well do on actually achieving it. It's be a big build/s to follow and great as aways to follow. Thanks for joining us here, a pleasure as always to have you along and to follow one of your builds. I guess there's no rest for the wicked and straight onto finishing the Ju-88?
