Andrew D Jolly Rogers guy
Working on this beautiful worn-out bird for my Vermont ANG collection (7 strong so far). Supposedly had only one of the two central wing pylons (sta 3 or 7) as a PIDS unit, the other plain/standard. It was suggested the GBU-31 would've been fitted to the PIDS, but is that a given? Does the GBU-31 HAVE to be on PIDS? Can't tell for sure, but it *looks* like a standard pylon on the -31 (sta 3), or am I wrong?? Photo is dated August 2004 if it makes a difference.
beppe
I think I read something about that in F-16.net, which is the reference about F-16,F-35 & F-22. Where did you find the decals ? Cheers, Joseph

beppe
if you go to the forum, there's a topic about PIDS and JDAM's, but it dated from 2010, after the picture was taken. They said that the standard configuration was one pid sta 7 and a normal one sta 3. Also initially there were software problems with the pids and the Jdam, which are now ironed out. Boman
As mentioned over on ARC, in the "early years" PIDS couldn't carry JDAMs, but this had changed by Libya 2011 campaign when several carried GBU-38/54's
Andrew D Jolly Rogers guy
Okay, so in 2004 this bird is probably carrying a PIDS on the other side with the pair of GBU-12's?
Boman
Yes, PIDS with TER and 2xGBU-12's with standard pylon with JDAM on the other
Vultures1
As well as being an informative discussion, there is so much detail to see in those photos of that weathered Vermont Viper - thanks for posting!
