Well it’s time to start those old Jumo 004’s and start well back as it finally here, the Me-262 STGB.

This is going to be your normal STGB with a wee twist if we can get it to work. For the first time we will be allowing not just aircraft that actually flew but some of the planned versions of this aircraft as well. It’s not going to be a full-on Whiffy fest, but some of the more advanced planned builds (including those built but never quite got to fly) will be allowed to join in. Hopefully we can get a second gallery up for them. If not they’ll all going into the one gallery and there’ll be two voting categories, we’ll see how we go.

My lovely Co-host for this event will be Mottlemaster, doesn’t he look splendid in his RLM81 suit with RLM82 pin stripes and a dashing RLM76 tie to finish it off.

For the actual rules, nice and simple and pretty much the usual:

·      The Group Build will run from 00:01GMT Saturday 5thMay to 23:59GMT 5thAugust.

·      The model can be any scale, but sorry no snap-tight models. Aftermarket stuff, as much as you’d like!

·      All models must be less than 25% complete at the start of the build, if in doubt please ask.

·      All builds must have a WIP thread showing progress, models cannot go into the gallery unless there is a build thread for them. Please remember only 5 photos go into the gallery, you may be asked to remove some if you have too many.

·      No buying/wanted or selling in the GB please, there is a buying and selling section in Britmodeller for this!

·      There will be polls to vote for your favourite builds at the end of the GB, but please do not canvas for votes.

·      Some planned versions will be allowed. Try to keep these out of the pure WhatIf area, there are plenty of almost there designs and detailed planned versions out there to keep everyone happy. If you’re unsure them please just ask.

·      Please be polite and constrictive with your comments to member’s builds and no arguments please and no rivet counting either please!

As always at the end of the day it’s all about having fun and enjoying the build no matter what your modelling skills. Those new to GB’s please feel free to ask for help if you need it, there are always plenty of members happy to help out.

Good luck to everyone and I do look forward to seeing all your builds in the galley.
