Oh and find out how to do it :nodding:

Not to worry, I shall be providing encouragement from the side-lines.

I forgot to ask earlier, what was you base colour before you apply the oil paints?

Tamiya Desert Sand XF59 used as base colour

The oil paints were applied and then wiped off. Final finish done with a fan brush, a good invest me for those attempting wood grain (scale here to small for much effect) . Also very good for streaking washes when weathering

Bonjour everybody,

My name is Bob, I'm French (nobody's perfect!) and I'm brand new on this forum.

In fact, I'm here because I need you for a "Bonne Action"!

Did you ear about Tally Ho, an Albert Strange yacht who won the Fastnet in 1927? She has been saved by a young guy of Bristol, Leo Goolden, who rebuild her near to Seattle (WA).

You can find every thing here

As I don't have enough money to make her a gift, I decided to build a pond yacht of her with 1920's technics, proposing Leo to sell it to make money...but he decide to keep it for him, what I approve too!

Here is the result:

Now, I would like to help another guy who is rebuilding a cornish lugger named Rosalind: but there is no plan of her and I can't find any on the web.

Is there somebody here who could help me?

Joyeux Noël or Merry Xmas!!!

Bob

Hi Bob,

Welcome to the forum!

Thank you for posting the link to the Sampson Boat Co. A truly beautiful boat. I now have something to keep me quiet over the Christmas period going through all of the video footage of the restoration.

Your replica is also beautiful. Is there any chance you can post more pictures and perhaps details including scale.

As to the Rosalind I will go through my references over the next few days and see what I can find

Joyeux Noel

Hi Kev,

Merry Xmas to you (and others "membres émérites" of this forum!)

Happy to share this link with you! As you'll see, Leo is someone really gifted! In France, from Le Cid, a theater piece of Pierre Corneille, we used to say "La vertu n'attend pas le nombre des années" what means that sometimes, you can find someone remarkable and young!

Is it possible for you to share the plan you worked on at the beginning of this topic? In wich book did you find it?

Cordialement

Bob

Hi Bob

If you are interested in Luggers have you seen my build of a local boat?

If you send me your email address by personal message I will send you the plans (Personal Message PM is at the top right of the page, click on envelope)
