P 47 N Revell 1/48 MOJO RESTORER.

Recommended Posts

Hi folks, I am back again.

Yep, I finally got some time and inclination to get on with this build, life and family etc come first.

Right. Upper wing joins now sorted so to speak.

FF 4

FF 5

A bit of scribing and a gentle polish should see them done.

Underneath, well, it`s shim time again.

Shim time 11

Shim time 12

Let that dry tonight and trim and fill etc.

Still leaves the areas coloured red to sort but heading in the right direction.

All comments welcome.

Agreed, good to see you hitting the bench again

That's a lot of shimming to do for a mojo restoring build :frantic: Good job with that

Ciao

Nothing like practicing for future builds LOL.

OK folks, a break from the shims etc.

That Harpoon?

Pitot 1

Pants really.

So, time to try and scratch build one.

Cut and filed a bit of spare P.E Brass.

Pitot 2

Then cut some tubing.

Pitot 3

Taped it it down and C/A`d .

Pitot 5

Not to bad as a first attempt.

Pitot 6

That`s about it for now.

Back to those shims etc.

  • 4 weeks later...

Thanks @giemme, @BIG X. Normal service is now back for now.

Update.

Tail feathers fitted.

TF 1

TF 2

A little bit of filler (Vallejo Acrylic) into the join.

TF 3

TF 4

Allow that to dry , and then give a few tender swipes with the faithful sanding sticks.

Just the wingtip lights to add then time for masking up and priming I think?

OK folks.

Update.

Olive green added.

OG 1

OG 2

I know it`s deeper along the sides but once masked and give a light sanding it should leave a good demarcation line.

OG 3

Rocket tips done as well.

I am going to leave that lot to dry before masking.

Fancy a cuppa, I do!!!!

Good base coat, bring on the metallics!

That blue is really eye-catching, love the shade. Must try and find a colourful kit someday. Feels like everything is grey, with a dab of grey green for a bit of variety.

Oh yeah, that'll be 'cause I do ww2 ships and FAA birds... :rage:
