Spookytooth
Up date. It`s shim time folks. Card cut roughly. Then marked around for contour. Cut to outline plus handling strip. And dry fitted. Going to leave it for now, and start tomorrow with the glueing and taping. All comments welcome. Simon.

Next will be further shims to pad out the remaining gap once the correct dihedral is set. All comments welcome. Simon
Spookytooth
Hi folks, sorry for the delay but life just keeps getting in the way. Update. Those wings, right, to clear things up, I only applied glued to the area coloured red. This was to allow for more flexibility in the wing area for trying to set the dihedral . Shim added and glued in position. And the other wing too. Oh dear , a hole/gap!!!! A shim I say. Fill it.... Allow to set before sanding/carving etc. The gap by the flaps will be filled one side and blended withe the fuselage root. That is all for now. Hope to get a bit more done before the weekend as I have a friend visiting. All comments welcome. Simon.

Thanks for the warning Hi ,thanks for the warning,is it worse than the Revell kit? It`s worse sir. The wing fit is pants, and the U/C bays are a pain to clean up. The wing/fuselage joint runs right through them. The cowling is split moulded , seams a pain too. If its academy decals well, enough said. It a pita but if you are willing to spend extra time with it it can turn out quite nice. 11 hours ago, corsaircorp said: The WiP is gone in the ether and I did'nt save it, but if I can help, feel free to ask ! corsaircorp
Hello Simon, Well, let's start the listing, The engine must be changed, the squashy thing in front of the kit try to be an Early PW 2800 But the N has a late P 2800 and the crankcase is totally different. The cockpit is an old KMC resin one, Old resin mean lots of sanding Then all the hatches on the wing and fuselage stand proud... Must be sanded and levelled, Boring ! Then the cockpit hole on the fuselage is wrong as the canopy did'nt close it.... The coaming over the dashboard need to be redone.... I will stop right now unless Cocky will throw his own away 😜 Can't wait to see your P-47 finished... Sincerely. CC

Spookytooth
OK folks, a bit of a delay I know, but life.... Update. Applied filler to wing root. And sanded down. Gave her a second skim, plus skimmed the other wing root. I also did the underneath the leading edge as well no pics yet. While that drys, I plucked up courage and drilled the wing tip lights and painted the with a drop of clear red/green applied with a cocktail stick. They did not turn out to bad. Well that is it for now. Allow time for filler to harden. All comments welcome. Simon.
