phildagreek
I'm looking for your opinion folks, planning ahead I'm looking for the ingredients to make an IDF Hummer, probably some sort of Special Forces version, which gives great scope for conversion. But, what do we think is the best base kit for Humvee conversions in 1/35? Answers on a postcard please...........
Centaur95
For a basic Humvee (especially a soft/open topped SF version) - Tamiya every time For an uparmoured version there are so many other kits that I've lost track of which is the best. phildagreek
I'm thinking Tamiya, especially as not a great deal of the original kit will be left. Thanks.
SeanM
The Bronco M1114s and Academy M1151 represent more up to date Humvees and have loads of detail in them. Good kits too....
Kingsman
I believe the 4 Israeli SF Commando units use Land Rovers (Sayeret?). But even they don't carry mounted weapons. HMMWV (Hamer) are used for a variety of other roles, but don't seem to be extensively armed and are very frequently seen unarmed. A single MAG or RWS with M2 are most common, apart from the TOW mounts. There are other choices for a weapon-festooned HMMWV and several conversion kits from Legend, Black Dog and others plus parts from Live Resin
