tonyot
Hiya Folks,...here is my 1/48th scale Monogram B-25H built for the B-25 Mitchell Group Build. It wears the markings of the 82nd Bomb Sqn, 12th Bomb Group which served in the Mediterranean theatre during 1943 and into 1944, during which time it served on anti shipping sorties and helped support the British invasion of Kos in the Aegean. Early in 1944 the Bomb Group left Foggia in Italy when it transferred to the 10th Air Force in India where it remained until the end of the war. Most of the decals for the model came from the decal sheet `Dragons and Tigers and Girls,..Oh My" from Albatros Modelworks,...... although apart from the eyes, the face on the nose was hand painted,..... apart from the eyes, which were overpainted with a duller yellow, brighter blue and with added blue eyebrows, as per the original! The upper surfaces of the model were spray painted using a Tamiya rattle Can of USAAF Olive Drab while the rest of the model and the varnish etc was brush painted. As the model had raised panel detail I sanded thi away and re scribed the lines,.....which was more work than I`d anticipated and the plastic was quite hard too,....which also made it hard to sand the seams smooth too! For anybody interested,....here is a WIP to stop me prattling on,... which includes photos of the real aircraft!; Here is the hand painted face; DSCF3086_NEW by Tony OToole, on Flickr And here is the rest of the model; DSCF3099_NEW by Tony OToole, on Flickr DSCF3072_NEW by Tony OToole, on Flickr DSCF3076_NEW by Tony OToole, on Flickr DSCF3091_NEW by Tony OToole, on Flickr DSCF3082_NEW by Tony OToole, on Flickr DSCF3075_NEW by Tony OToole, on Flickr Cheers, Tony Edited April 23, 2018 by tonyot 30

Head in the clouds.
Excellent work Tony, in particular the hand painted nose which adds a lot of interest. I try to avoid re-scribing as it often turns out to be very long winded.

Buzby061
Lovely job. The recoil must have shaved a few knots off the airspeed when the 75mm went off. Pete Edited May 2, 2018 by Buzby061

Bedders
Another beaut Tony. Had this kit 25 years ago but made a mess of it unfortunately. I'm puzzled by one tning though: why are there gun packs on one side of the fuselage but not on the other? Justin

72modeler
Doggone it, Tony- save some for the rest of us! Beautiful B-25! Do you have a 1 to 1 scale hangar to store all of your finished projects? Thanks for sharing all of the photos, too! Mike

Justin Thanks Justin,....Not sure about the gun packs but I have a feeling that it might have something to do with the pilot being seated on this side (the B-25H was single pilot only) or to do with the drag on that side when firing the huge 75mm gun,.. maybe the added 50 cal`s dragged the nose across,... or there was no room for the ammo inside the fuselage due to the 75mm gun? I`ve looked into it but to no avail,.... but it was a very common fit. On 5/2/2018 at 10:44 PM, Thud4444 said: Nice build. Any trouble spots in the build? Cheers,.... Trouble? No not really,..... I`ve flagged up a few things in the WIP,..... the main problem was the hard (armour plated?) plastic which didn`t like being sanded ithout opening up the seam lines.
