fjaweijfopi4j48
Part of the canopy is masked using the Arctic Decals set. This Argentinian machine had the roof of the canopy painted over. White areas are masked, aluminum color sprayed, and red color goes on some of the ancillary parts:

Try this: Dear Unknown (but somehow universal) SWMBO: On behalf of the world modeling population (calculated in the millions) we request that you dispense forgiveness and absolution for our modeling sins, which are many. But please consider the number of all sorts of other sins we do not commit by committing to modeling itself. What are, in the great scope of the universe and mankind's history a few more shillings? so little price to pay for so much happiness. Consider the dinosaurs, they did not do any modeling and they went extinct. Think about Plato, Kant, Lao Tse, John Lennon. They may be all looking at you while you ponder on this momentous decision. As the Monty Python famously said in the Mr. Creosote restaurant skit: Only One More Little Thin Mint! What can possibly go wrong. Brilliant thanks Moa that is a cracking note she can' fail to be impressed and bestowe forgiveness on me. You are a great modeller and philosofer. Courageous
I must have a very special lady as I have no need for those notes. She says, "If building model kits makes you happy, then I'm happy"...isn't that sweet. I wouldn't push it though, everybody has their breaking point. Love it when the colour starts appearing, especially red . Carry on the good work Moa. Stuart
fjaweijfopi4j48
Masking of the aluminium color begins: Red is airbrushed, without forgetting the struts, and the three different colors on the rudder (white, light blue, aluminium horn: Some of the masks are taken off, revealing the aluminium: Masks protecting the white lightnings on fuselage and nacelles are off. Next step is to remove windows and canopy masks:

bigbadbadge
The wine will always help. I will get a few bottles before I show her the note !!! bigbadbadge
Oh dear you've gone and done it now. I have succumbed and gone and bought one of the Heller boxings. They are reasonably priced at Kingkit. I will have to get some wine now !!! All the best Chris
Paul J
Wine is the last thing you need to build a beautiful bi plane like the DH89....🙂

I am partial to a Pan-Galactic Gargleblaster myself. It leads me to try all sorts of daft ideas for the entertainment of the BM massive! fjaweijfopi4j48
Nose light, stabilizer and rudder are added: The photo-etched frame from the Kuivalainen set is added. The left side frame, because of the door I opened, had to be cut in three elements. The fit is very good, but you have to very gently bend it to follow the fuselage natural curvature. Gluing them in place requires patience and a steady hand. I did not use here the vinyl "metal" frames from the Arctic Decals set because the frames were the color of the fuselage: Trimmed exhausts added. The flap bays will be given a subtle wash before adding the flaps:
