Possibly Apocryphal
Guess what? I actually did get the seat finished last night! Replaced the pitot horns and added the belts just like I planned. So, one McDonnell Douglas ACES II: And the obligatory shot with commonly used coin for scale comparison: "But why go to all that trouble when Matchbox provided such an accurate and exquisitely detailed seat in the kit?" I hear you ask. Well, that's a good question, but remember, the Matchbox kit represents the prototype, so their seat is an ESCAPAC 1E9, whereas I am making a production A-10A, which needed an ACES II. So I think the extra work was justified. 9

perdu
A thing of beauty, who needs an aeroplane to bung it in and lose it? 😊 1

bar side
I suspect the matchbox seat was supposed to be hidden under the pilot, never to be seen again. Yes, think yours is a smidge better
