What a fool am I .. I have passed by some 23 pages of this thread, thinking the title referred to some colourful WWI German fighter!

This is a beautiful machine.

It seems I have some reading ahead of me, time to catch up!

The seats look spot on ! This is brilliant, I really enjoy it !

Thanks CC, I don't recall any ivory seams on the seats but will check again just to be sure before buttoning up the fuselage.

Have you seen these ?

https://collection.sciencemuseum.org.uk/objects/co29747/model-of-de-havilland-dh-91-albatross-frobisher-aircraft

Do you think this advert would be allowed today? (added purely for the aircraft taking off in the background of course..the car is of no interest.)

Thanks Richard. I had seen pictures of the model but not the photograph of the interior.

As to the advertisement, what is there for a red green blooded Martian to object to?

As an advert? No.

As 'reality' television? 'The Real Housewives of Stag Lane Aerodrome' is already in production ....

It's clearly a government information poster about the perils of wearing loose clothing near taxiing aircraft.

I've just got back home from hospital, having spent the most horrendous week of my life. I split my sides laughing at this one. What a cracker.

Thank you.

Coming along beautifully Martian loving every bit of it

My two bob's worth on the subject of ''Do you think this advert would be allowed today'' well consider this, when the world in its current state of bare-faced lying politicians, a new world order of political correctness, people swearing on the radio, the gutter press inventing news, manners non existent, no that advert wouldn't be allowed,

Redraw it with nude figures or pornographic tones then yes it would be allowed, you see it just needs to fit current day standards ................were dinosaurs! ( i guess I speak for myself here !)

Cheers from the Cynical Antipodean

Cheers Norman. I have some stuff ready for photographing. Sadly the head of my MVS unit had me out today, removing emulsified oil from the bilge of one of our vessels that had had a broken oil line. At it from 14.00H until 19.30H this evening and Mrs Martian has only just finished scrubbing the filth and grime off of me. Sorry if that image gives anyone nightmares but I felt on this occasion, if I had to suffer, then others were going to suffer with me! :evil_laugh:

Thanks Norman. Then the engineer who has been promising all week to fix the leek didn't fix it so anyone who has the nerve to complain about our efforts today will get keel hauled around our unit's fleet of six vessels, seven if one counts the catamaran as double, prior to being forced to lick out said bilges with their tongues at the point of my blurglecruncheon. I've had enough today.: you can tell, can't you?

It would if we hadn't guzzled the last of the Gunpowder Rum the other night.

After a decent night's sleep, I finally managed to get the pictures of the last few days work taken, uploaded and edited. The detail painting of the passenger seats, most of which involved adding highlights and lowlights, has been completed and the seats installed. The seats for the flight crew have also been glued in place and await harnesses. The passengers themselves seem to have had to make do with the rolls of padding that we can see on their seats. I remember seeing these on a YouTube video somewhere; the passengers had to pull the padding across their abdomens before fastening them somehow.

A bit of another heads up here. The location of the passenger seats is indicated by very slightly raised areas on the cabins' floors. It is very important that the seats are glued exactly over these areas as failure to do so will result in the seats fouling the sides of the fuselage, resulting in the two halves failing to close up properly. Guess how I found this out!

Next up is to finish fitting out the flight deck, add the curtains (I think I remember where I put the cigarette paper I was given) give the insides of all the windows a good polish and a coat of Klear and it will finally be time to get the fuselage halves joined together.

Thanks for looking.

Having followed this build for 23 pages, being in turn entertained and informed, I can truthfully say that I think Martian you've really impressed me with these shots.

The tables look like the real thing, and the way you've painted the seats makes them look well used and worn.

A fine job so far, now looking forward to the final assembly.
