1/24 Oldsmobile Aerotech

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

This is another one I have rescued from the 'forgotten in the mists of time' shelf.

I had kind of started this a loooong time ago, not sure when. Must be over 30 years ago, I think.

Anyway, I have rescued it and plan to work on this as well as all the other stuff I am working on.

So, pictures:

This is the box-top:

Looks quite aerodynamic. Hopefully, I can make a good stab at it.

This is where I have got so far:

There's two choices of version. A short-tail and a long-tail. This, if I recall, is the long-tail variant.

There's an awfully long way to go with this one.

Thanks for looking, Alan.

Good lord, I haven't seen that car since it was on the car show circuit. Oldsmobile had some insane designs over the decades didn't they.

You gonna stay silver with the build?

Much better looking car than the Aerotech III-

:)

I think I know which one I prefer...

I think that I will stick with the silver for this one.

Cheers, Alan.

Hi All,

Another year has gone by, but some progress has been made.

I started on the tyres. This is what they looked like from the box:

They seem to be moulded in vinyl. Somehow they were (are?) still flexible with no cracks. But those seams!

This is what they look like now:

I used a very coarse sanding stick to get this, but it does look more like a slick tyre now.

Here are the body parts, seams removed and polished ready for primimg:

I have primed the body panels ready for the colour coat.

I think those pictures are still in the camera.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,

Alan.
