Heinkel He219 A-0

Recommended Posts

Hello! :)

This is Revell's re-issue of their Heinkel HE219, with new parts to make it as the earlier A-0.

Built virtually out of the box, except for some Eduard etched seat belts.

I used Xtracolor enamels for the camouflage.

Straight forward kit, no real pitfalls, but it needs a lot of nose weight to keep it off it's tail!

Impressive, you have made a great job of that, and I know what you mean about nose weights I was forever adding it to mine.

Cheers

That's a real stunner with a particularly impressive paint job.

Is this the 1/32 kit?

Yes it is.

Thanks everybody for all your comments, greatly appreciated😀

Superb, I admire your paint job -

replicating all those tiny blotches without making a horrible mess is really an achievement.

I've tried myself on such a scheme before ... and failed miserably ...

Best greetings from Vienna!

Great work!

Are the mottles made by freehand?

Thank you.

Yes they are.

I thinned the paint right down to a milk like consistency then turned the compressor down to 15psi, and practiced loads on card before I slowly started.

It took about an hour and a bit to do the mottles.

The base colour was sealed with an acrylic varnish before the mottles were added.

As I used Xtracolor enamels, if there  were any "OOPS" moments, it could be cleaned with a cotton bud and thinners.:D
