huvut76g7gbbui7
Some time ago I saw a photograph of an S-61N in temporary British military markings. I think it was one of Bristow's. I have trawled the 'net and can't find it now. Anyone out there know anything?
alancmlaird
Stop grasping at straws, Scimitar, and just build your Whirlykits conversion set as a civie! Go on - you know you want to.

Smudge
Some nice options. The Lebanese aircraft would be unusual. Edited April 16, 2018 by Smudge

If you're interested in reading a bit about Irish helicopter SAR, Nine Lives by David Courtney's a decent read. Easy to spot cover showing a S-61 exercising with (I think) an Arun Class lifeboat. 1

Where's the camouflage? Where're the guns n missiles (great name for a rock band - sounds a bit familiar though). I'll for forgive you this one then, since civie Meteors, JPs and other decommissioned WMDs are on my stach-reduction programme too! Incidently, would the serial-bedecked S-61N to which you refer have been as long ago as 1970-75 while I would still have been buying Air Pictorial? Because something is rattling around in my memory about seeing something like that in their register review.

The Lebanese ones were ex Aberdeen..BIH possibly. They just stuck on the transfers and saved on the paint.

Kallisti
Thanks, looks like there is a Sky Classics 1:200 Sikorsky S.61 model out there somewhere, so I've set up an eBay search for it, just in case

Fuel and pee stop and fabulous fish and chips....them were the days 3
