Started today, the old Tristar kit in the Hobbyboss box

P1000239.JPG

Work starts with the two sets of road wheels - steel rimmed for the front and rubber rimmed for the rear. I've left off the rubber rims at the moment - they can go on after paint

Then on with the bogeys

Then finally for the day, the drive sprockets

This is a typical Tristar kit, a lot like Bronco - lots of detail, and tiny pieces but everything so far fit's really well.

Looking good so far Peter.  It almost looks like they dropped the top half of the Jagdpanther onto a Panzer IV chassis.

It does look like a Bronco kit, lots and lots of small detail parts but they look great.

Take care,

Lloyd

Looks great! ;)

I'm glad I found you again. Last month was terrible for me. So it's nice to see one of my best buddies still producing quality! keep it up mate and will be posting a new build soon.

Today's work - first added 'Ambush' cammo using a small mask, and sprayed the Balkenbreuz

P1000262.JPG

P1000263.JPG

Then a Tan filter over the top to start bringing it together

P1000264.JPG

Then while that was drying, started assembling the tracks. These are workable tracks, and so far (20 links in),  it appears that they work - only another 74 to go on this side

Today started by adding the decals and then dot filtering

P1000267.JPG

Then added mud to the lower hull

P1000268.JPG

P1000269.JPG

P1000270.JPG

P1000271.JPG

Finished assembling the track all 98 links

P1000272.JPG

Then 1.5 hours of swearing and fighting with the bloody things - they fall apart way too easily if you put *any* twist on them, and 98 links is actually a few short.

Looking good, but what happened to that drive sprocket? - it's sitting rather cockeyed isn't it?

That's from when they were loose - they are very loose until you fit the tracks

Interesting.  I guess I am so used to most kits that have the running gear attach quite firmly sitting true.  Can you rotate the drive sprockets at that stage? do they allow for you to better position and attach the tracks?
