GWH 1/48 Su-35SK "Flanker E" PLAAF 6th Brigade

Recommended Posts

You are an amazing artist. With each post, you somehow manage to better yourself!

Your construction techniques are unorthodox, but it seems to work extremely well for this plane.

Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for your feedback and encouraging.

Russian planes are quite complicated for painting and weathering, especially Flanker family.

I can make 3 F-15s instead of only 1 Flanker...

Final pics are for carrying hints.

I bought biggest aluminium case which is allowed to be carried into cabin, full of 1.5*1.5cm precut pieces of sponge.

You only take out the unnecessary sponge piece to match the model outline.

Tried the case to bring it to Shanghai New Year Model Contest and it showed perfect protection for the model.

Will use this case for my attendance to Shizuoka Hobby Show this May.

This kit has the feature to allow canopy switch between open and close mode.

The merit is very obvious:

1. easy to carry and maintenance.

2. you can always enjoy cockpit details and beautiful outline of the Flanker.

Some pictures of finished diorama took by audience at Shanghai New Year Model Contest on 31st Dec and 1st Jan 2019.

Will take more formal pics outside during the China Lunar New Year holidays.

Yufei

Great news!

Having just downloaded all the photos and notes to this WIP (over 100 pictures!) I want to thank you again Yufei. This makes by far the best resource for building this kit. Far better than any book or magazine article.

Cheers

Hello Yufei,  I just started my GWH Su-35 and while searching for some additional information just found your build thread.

I can't thank you enough for all the valuable information you've provided along with your beautiful model!

Every question I had has been answered plus more detail info than I could imagine.

Cheers,

Eric

Those looks incredible!  I definitely need a set for my Su-35.

Oh, I just discovered those are for a whole new kit of the air-to-ground version of the Su-35.

This has got to be one of the very best WIP articles (and with superb photos and colour information) we have ever been blessed with here on BM.

Just outstanding in all respects - thank you for sharing all your work.

One of the best Wips on this forum.

So much information.

So much care and attention to detail which has resulted in one of the best models I think I have ever seen.

Bravo.

I look forward to your next one.

How could I possibly miss that much of this fantastic, inspiring and out of this world thread???

This build was also a great reference for my Flanker builds especially for weapons and engines...

Simply awesome!...

Hallo

You are doing great! Really, I am very impressed.

I use the SM colors the first time on the F-15A Baz from the IAF. It is much easier to work as Alclad.

You show me a good way, after modelling for decades, I am now on to make 4 F-15I. With all the coloring in the hot area and the weapons in a correct manner.

Are you aviation linked? Where do you live in China?

Happy modelling

Such an incredible build. It appears that even the cockpit has some weathering and I've never seen that before. Wonderfully executed.
