adey m
Just recently I bought a pre-owned original 1970 issue FROG Ta 152 in very good condition. The packet looked as though it had never been opened and judging by the crispness of the parts visible inside the clear plastic bag it must have been one of the early ones produced. I bought it with the intention of building it for the FROG Tribute Group Build. The build of this model has just appeared in Aircraft Work In Progress. This is the model I bought to build. The crisply moulded contents laid out for inspection. The parts I decided not to use were the strangely shaped spinner and the FROG pilot. I found a more suitably shaped spinner in my spares box and I used an AIRFIX pilot. Scratchbuilt cockpit with adapted kit's seat. Scratchbuilt instrument panel, engine detail and AIRFIX pilot holding his joystick .............. I wanted the propeller to spin freely. I achieved this by fixing a plastic rod into the rear of the prop which slid freely into a plastic tube fixed to the cowling. A plastic collar ( not yet fitted here ) kept the prop shaft in place. I do not have an airbrush so the the model was brush painted with Humbrol and Xtra Colour enamels. This was the first German mottle effect that I have attempted in over 40 years. Humbrol 252 RLM82 overpainted with Humbrol 251 RLM81 enamels. Xtra Colour RLM 76 enamel undersurfaces. Humbrol 240 RLM002 applied to wheel wells and undercarriage. I bought the model this February and had it finished 6 weeks later ................ another achievement for me ............. and here she is No Photoshop here guys ............... that is the model prop spinning ............. left hand spins the prop while the right hand operates the camera Aircraft arriving at a dispersed grass airfield and that has been my most recent model, the FROG Ta 152. cheers guys Edited April 15, 2018 by adey m
FAAMAN
Outstanding !!!! You've bought this kit into the light, a huge well done, great finish My own Ta repair and rebuild has well and truly been inspired
stevehnz
Brilliant job on that Adey, definitely one where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Steve.
RODH2
Don't you get annoyed when people's brush work Camo. is better than what you can do with an airbrush!! Well Done!
Meatbox8
Looks great Adey. I particularly like the pics of it 'ticking over'. Shows how difficult the type must have been to taxi. I wonder what its rate of roll was like with that long span.

ColinChipmunkfan
Echo RODH2 comments - who needs an airbrush- Great model Adey and the rotating prop shots are very realistic.
Unfinished project
Fantastic build sir. It’s amazing what can be done with these old kits some glue, paints and a couple of hairy sticks. My hats off to you the paint scheme application is stunning
Dermo245
Terrific build of that one
noelh
Brings back memories. I actually didn't build it. Around 1971 my friend had it originally and I salvaged it out of his bin when he threw it and several other models away. Silly boy. I miss those Frog kits.
theplasticsurgeon
Nice, like that a lot. I've got the 1977 Revell version from the same mould lurking in my stash. I hope it comes out as well.
Learstang
Good job on the old girl! I built one when it was still a new kit, which tells you how long I've been at this. It was the very last model I built with the wheels up. Regards, Jason

Parabat
I like that a lot, the Ta-152H is a favourite with its long wings and broad tail. Great pics which bring it to life.

Hairtrigger
Absolutely brilliant, I love the shots showing the propeller spinning. Hope when I eventually get around to doing this 109 it looks half as good as yours

My younger brother bought this model from the village post office when I was ten and I built it for him. It builds into a lovely replica of a 109F. What a pity that they truncated the picture on the card header, that flurry of sand you can see at the bottom of the picture is a crash landing RAF fighter which is visible on the full size box artwork. regards, adey Edited April 14, 2018 by adey m
Hairtrigger
Back in the day dad did the Galland version think it's still around somewhere, I intend to do the Marseille version. Cheers Addy..
mike romeo
Adey, Nice finish on the '152. Particularly like the engine / internals gizmology for view up through the open wheel wells. Regards, Martin

Uncle Pete
Cracking job on the mottling... You're a braver man than me! If you like the spinning prop there are plenty of micro RC motors that would fit tidily into a 1/72 kit.
Dave N
Lovely! the spinning prop really brings things to life-and good job on the mottling.
