Lex77
Hi, after the C-40A I decided to make another 1/200 Boeing 737 kit and this time a US Air Force T-43A. First the box; 20180412_191908 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr And this is in the box; 20180412_192115 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr And these are the decals I will be using; 20180412_192323 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr This will be a fast one but I hope I will get it done on time. Spad
Another military variant - like it! Interesting looking kit - should be a quick build?!
Lex77
After a couple not so succesfull tries to get the windows filled I used a lot of putty this time so let's hope this works out ok. 20180419_202047 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr
Romeo Alpha Yankee
It took me 4-5 applications to get rid of most of the indentations on my -200 build. I figure the window decals will hide the depressions still present
Lex77
Thanks Ray. My filled windows keep coming outwards and with no windows on the T-43 I unfortunately have nothing to hide the problems. I'm really glad Hasegawa opted for closed fuselages on the later molds!

Lex77
Unmasking done and gloss coated. 20180430_211041 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr GRRR some gloss coat went under my finger and left a finger print and some paint dissapeared. 20180430_211054 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr
Lex77
Help! Anyone has experience with getting Draw decals bending around corners?? No way I can get them right on the nose. 20180501_155223 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr
Romeo Alpha Yankee
I have run some thin strip draw decals around a nose and they settled OK with setting solution. With such a large slab of a decal, you may need to heat it with a hair dryer or the like or paint that area (its black isn't it?).
Lex77
Thanks Ray! Unfortunately it isn't black but blue and I don't have that blue in the paint rack so painting will be difficult to match the blue to the cheatline on the fuselage.
Viking
On 5/1/2018 at 5:02 PM, Lex77 said: Help! Anyone has experience with getting Draw decals bending around corners?? I use hot water from the kettle, pour some in a small dish. Fold some kitchen paper several times into a small square, dip it in the hot water (as hot as you can stand it, but don't burn yourself!) and press it down on the decal. Do it several times and the decals should conform. I've used lots of Draw decals, and found that this is far & away the best method. Seeting solutions dont reall have any effect on them. Here using Draw Decals on an Airbus A318 conversion. They are old photos, and it's not really around compound curves, but the principal is the same. To keep it 737 themed, this one is a lot of deaclling from Draw's Kulula sheet HTH John
Lex77
Thanks John, Didn't manage to get it done so decal removed and some new white paint on it and pick the other option without the blue nose. 20180502_211842 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr
Lex77
And it is almost done. Some decal setting and a gloss coat and it is done. Will be away until sunday evening so it will be a close call! 20180504_202639 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr 20180504_212023 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr 20180504_212040 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr 20180504_212049 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr
