airfixpeter
Just started on the most time consuming part of the build the first layer of planking so it will take a few weeks to finish it. And I have the first full deck pieces attached as well.

airfixpeter
All now been sanded and up next is the second layer of planking that contains the portholes starting off with the vertical templates and then slowly building up the second layer and drilling the many many portholes
airfixpeter
I have just decided to change the theme of this build to a Troopship I have done one before only in one 1\400 so I have decided to go all out and do it in 1\250 so I have to find the extra lifeboats.

airfixpeter
I have just found a bit of time to do some more work. This time it redoing the first and second class dome gratings I first done out of wood as per magazine but then replaced them with plastic strips of the same dimensions. The bottom pic shows plastic and wood gratings side-by-side the plastic one is on the left.
airfixpeter
Time to bring this build up to date while waiting for a spitfire to dry I picked up the two ships and started transfering some parts over from the doner ship it's just mainly vents and railings some cranes from aft and some parts on the fore deck. And I have tried some figures out for size although they are 1\200 scale they are a tad bit big so I might be a case of amputation of the feet.

airfixpeter
Time for another update I have almost finished the bow section just a few bits to do and I have attached the bow mast and the first two funnels this is not a full build as most of the parts from now on have already been done it's just a matter of transferring parts over from an older ship
