1/48 difficult and rarely seen builds

Recommended Posts

These are some of the large injection, resin or Vac kits rarely seen built as per an original posting on Hyperscale PT, all 1/48. Thought I would also share here.

What a great set of builds - where would you even find the space to store them! I am assuming that the non mainstream kits were a challenge to build, as you say, they are rarely seen on any modelling website

Thank you for sharing

WOW! :yikes:

If you have been able to wrestle the FM Halifax & Hampden into those superb looking models, then you sir are a Jedi of the modelling world!

An incredibly excellent collection:goodjob:

Great collection. That F-15 Reporter, new one on me.. Looks like a thinned down P-61 Black Widow .. Did it ever make production / service ?

How big is that Sunderland and He111Z ?

The Reporter did see limited production and a couple even were used as firebombers into the 1960s. The F stood for photo-recon under the Army Air Corps and early USAF designations. And it was an offshoot of the P-61E. The Sunderland has a 28 1/4 inch wingspan  the 111Z has a 29 inch wingspan.

Apologies for  slightly going off topic...I wonder what became of it?  Edit: see this  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_F-15_Reporter

That belly tank certainly ruined the lines didn't it.87-1.jpg

Wow.  A truly brilliant collection and from what I've heard of the FM Halifax you are an extremely patient and dedicated modeller!  I have to admit I haven't heard of some of these manufacturers, not to mention the F-15 Reporter.

I have the Halifax , Hampden and Baltimore , I started the Hampden but found nothing fitted in the fuselage and lost interest.

The Halifax is a beast as well, this is probably why you don't see too many built ( If only Revell would scale up their 72nd scale kits ) ;)
