1/72 STRV 103 Winter Camo

Recommended Posts

I got this kit at the time mainly because it was cheap, but it didn't take long after I started building it to realize it was an extremely nice and detailed little kit for 1/72. So I decided to do something a little special with the winter camo pattern.

Many thanks to all.

One of these days I would like to do the 1/35 103C with the Swedish camo pattern, I've always liked these s-tanks.

And for anyone who may be interested, the mud and dirt first was done by:

1st, a very highly thinned XF-72 sprayed on the underside of the tank, sides around the road wheels etc and then a bit further up on the skirts for fording.

2nd, application of AK's Earth Effects which I then blended into the XF-72 with a brush and enamel thinner.

3rd was a mix of gypsum, PVA glue, saw dust, water and AK's Dark Earth pigment (although I wish I had made it a bit thicker) which was applied by brush and I blended with some distilled water.

Last of all I added some variation to the mud and dirt by applying touches of AK's European Earth.
