Sharkmouth GB Chat

Basilisk

Recommended Posts

I am not sure if this has been proposed before, but how about a Sharkmouth GB?

Anything goes as long as there is a sharkmouth on it, that is, anything with "teeth" as most "Sharkmouth" on a craft are actually not the mouth of a Shark:D . I know they adore mainly planes, but I have also seen sharkmouth on tanks and boats.

Just a thought.

Cheers, Peter

If i can find an F-84 Thunderstreak and find the decals in my stash i may try to do this jet. 488pG6J.jpg

Does anyone know if these markings and a good F-84 kit might be available in either 1/48 or 1/72 ?

That's a bloody marvellous idea!  I take it variations on the theme would be acceptable?  Tiger teeth, Warthog tusks, that sort of thing?

The BM 'Bite Me!' GB perhaps?  :P

PS - Finally found one for the SF guys:

Not sure what it is, but it has teeth!  :D

I think it has been mentioned before but didn't get anywhere and can't remember if it was amalgamated with a nose art GB. Either way, I did say I was interested in then and still am today.  I did do a sharkmouth eventually for the Vietnam GB

Great to see that there is some interest in this topic.

Ohhh that's dangerous. I can't even begin to think of what I would build first as I have so many options.

Always good to have a choice ;)

Thanks for showing some examples Sgt. Yes everything with "teeth" on it is a go as most "Sharkmouth" on a craft are actually not the mouth of a Shark.... But I would say that the model has to be based on an existing craft.

You maybe right as I remember it vaguely too, but I couldn't find it (but then I didn't look very hard).

A gallery full of models in the aggressive "Sharkmouth" look would be something special, so it would be great if others like the idea as well.

Why rule the sci-fi guys out?  It's not like they exactly get a lot of GB options and the extra votes might make all the difference when it comes time for the polls.  :coolio:

You have a point there Sgt. What I wouldn't like are models which are in a pure fantasy sharkmouth scheme. But if a sci-fi model is based on a movie or a cartoon in print, that would be fine and would certainly enrich the GB.

Sweet.....I'd like to see some sci-fi stuff in the gallery, I'm tempted to grab that ARK-170 (apparently that's what it is), I'm pretty confident I can paint a better shark-mouth than that one!  ;)

Here's my last attempt:

PS - I'm sure I've seen a shark-mouth on a Colonial Viper somewhere too, but I can't find it ATM.

There are a few in my stash - a couple Phantoms (US and Japanese), plus a Taiwanese Sabre.  So 'yes please' from me too.

Thanks

The Italeri 1/48 F-84F kit (Ex-Kinetic) comes with these markings! :D

A tasteful option for the wheelie-thing builders:

Available right now at ****upmylambo.com apparently.

Now this looks a bit more like it (love the gold tooth):

Dunno if it's a genuine race livery, but it sure looks cool!  B)

This one's a winner too IMHO (took a while though):

Oaft bite your hand off to get my name on this list. Get this a GB and make it snappy, I'd be in for this

Looks like this GB will be one of the most dangerous one we ever had :D I gladly added you to the list - After all I need my hand ;)

Glad you are interested Cliff. I am sure that the F-4 could be a popular choice.

Have the Special Hobby Firefly Foreign Service boxing in the stash. Just need some after market folded wings.

The Dutch Navy Firefly does look cool!

Half way through already, but then who can't resist a sharkmouth on a craft. This is another of my favored scheme.
