Martin Axe
This is my first post Guys so be kind..... These are a couple of my builds for 2018, both more or less OOTB with the exception of the decals. Both are from Eduard's 1:48 range 'overtree's' which I find are great value for money. I've always loved the 109 and Spit what ever the version. after reading up on JG26 decided on modelling a representation of Rolf Pingel's Bf109F02 shot down over southern England in 1941. The Spit.. well it has my name on it, couldn't resist modelling the Mk 9 from SAAF once I came across the decal sheet online. I have to say There are some great 'artists' on 'Britmodeller' and I've learned a lot form scanning all your posts. here my two efforts: Bf109F-2 https://www.flickr.com/photos/156808104@N07/40545995154/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/156808104@N07/40364404195/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/156808104@N07/27386988138/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/156808104@N07/41260157621/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/156808104@N07/40546012374/in/dateposted-public/ Spitfire IX https://www.flickr.com/photos/156808104@N07/27387009418/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/156808104@N07/40364428495/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/156808104@N07/40546027984/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/156808104@N07/40546033734/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/156808104@N07/40546040154/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/156808104@N07/26388586257/in/dateposted-public/ I just hope this posts OK!. comments appreciated. Meatbox8
A beautiful pair. Nice to see a Spitfire in SAAF colours for a change. there is some superb weathering on both models as well. RAF Intelligence must have been pretty chuffed to capture a Gruppenkommandeur and Knights Cross recipient. I believe Pengel was brought down by a short Sterling gunner. Excellent work on both the 109 & Spitfire. I wholeheartedly agree with your statement. I have 30+ years of decals collected so i can easily decal an overtree kit, so excellent bargain for me. Martin Axe
Has anyone noticed the position of the fuselage machine guns on the eduard 109, are they positioned too far back or is it just me?
