corsaircorp
Hello Dears ! Great thanks to you all for your support ! The op goes well but lord !!! That's painfull but at least just for a mere 15 days ! I asked for having my Femur's head but they did want to let me up with it... I just say like in some restaurants, "Can I have the bone for the dog ??? " They have had a big laugh !! Lila is going well, day by day. Still on respiratory help but no longer the mask !! Finger crossed !! What a shaky end of year at CC castle !! But now, I'm at home until the 3 of March, The first winter at home for 34 years... That's good for modelling ! Sincerely. AdrianMF
Glad the op went well! Hopefully the pain will subside quickly. If you are modelling until 3 March don’t forget to stand up and do your exercises regularly! Regards, Adrian

jean
Hi CC, My apologies for lagging way behind and not following up your posts, along with many others for that matter. Just read about your op...I am absolutely appalled that they refused to let you have your femur head!!! Where is the world going to? For many years I always kept a wisdom tooth of mine, an understanding dentist allowed me to keep! You can't believe the amount of money this tooth saved me in restaurants, when the food was not quite up to scratch (or sometimes even if it were, depending on my mood!). I would drop it in my almost finished plate and call the waiter, demanding to see the manager... It never failed and the white-as-a-sheet poor man would do all he could to keep me from calling the health department... So you see, although a femur head would have had to be used with far more discernment (i.e. only with oxtail or osso bucco rather than an omelette), it could have definitely had its use... Anyway, I have now become far less of a hooligan, which is a shame, really. As for your grand daughter, she is microscopic!!! But in only a few short years she will be the one bossing you around!!! Such is life. Great work on your model by the way! And a great New Year to you and your now extended family!!!! JR

Grey Beema
Hi CC, Like the way the Firefly is going. Looks good so far. I am currently building the SH 1/48 Firefly MkI. I'm only at the closing up the fuselage stage at the moment. Annoyingly I forgot to add the speaker tube from Pilot to Observer so some fiddly tweezer work for me today before wings and filler.. Did you think of animating the elevators? I'm thinking of it but most of the pictures I have seen show the elevators undefeated so I am wondering if they were spring loaded and self centring or if they had a lock on. Bit more research I think..
Col.
The Firefly is looking great! Then again, and I never thought I'd say this, the Starfire looks good as well. Get them done! The joy of looking at your finished models will restore the mojo

I did enjoyed the WW II paint scheme WITH the Korean war stripes, then it would have done 2 WW II paint scheme ! So I choose this one ! I barely saw Fireflies with elevators on down or up position, I wiil bet for self centering, I was about to do it but I bored pins to make the tail unit stronger Aaaaand... Too late for this one... I will try it on the WWII one, I think about Lucy Quipment... Now the flaps will be funny to represent a bit dropped... Hello Col ! Yes, you're right ! So go on CC !! Thanks for your support ! I thank you for the kind words and support ! Have a great modelling time ! Time for me to go at the Bench ! Sincerely CC

DV119/S281 1770 NAS HMS Indefatigable 12.04.45. On that day two Fireflys from HMS Indefatigable were escorting a USN Martin Mariner (?) on a ASR mission searching for a downed allied pilot. During the patrol they came across a flight of five Ki51s. Each Firefly destroyed two Ki51s and they shared the fifth. With two enemy aircraft destroyed and three enemy aircraft shared destroyed (two from previous air battles) Lt Stott became the Royal Navy's highest scoring Firefly pilot. What I am trying to work out is whether or not the RP blast plates would have been fitted during this mission or if they would have been taken off to fit long range tanks... Answers on a post card please.. Although rare I did find a couple of pictures of Fireflys with deflected elevators - so to add a little interest I have cut and modified mine.. 1
