Iwata Eclipse HP-BCS intermittent spray

My long-serving HP-BCS is still doing pretty well. But after a longish layoff, I gave it a good clean and tried it tonight, and I get occasional "drop-outs" in the spray pattern. It doesn't spit or fade, just the occasional very short interruption in the liquid flow (just thinner/cleaner at the moment). It's mostly random timing, but around once in every 3-4 second long period. I've checked the hole in the siphon jar to and that's clear and open. I cleaned the nozzle, air cap holes and the needle thoroughly. I can't see any tear or other damage at the nozzle tip...

I'm running out of things to try... anyone got any other ideas?

best,

M.

Air supply issue? (Are you All Out of Love?) <ahem> Has the horrible little furry bludger cat possibly chewed a small hole in the hose (coz they'll do that)? Maybe the compressor is having an off day?

The only other thing that comes to mind is that possibly you have a degraded seal in the airbrush.

Or that you've managed to swap parts around ie wrong needle for the paint cap size.

This may (or indeed may not) help you narrow it down:

When in doubt, clean, clean again!
