BAC Lightning F.6

Recommended Posts

XR725 first flew as F Mk3, later converted to F Mk6. C/No. 95208. Squadron Leader Ed Durham flew this aircraft non-stop to Goose Bay, Canada on 27 August 1968. There it was zapped by the Canadians. I used Xtradecal sheet (72091) and they list it as EE (BAC) Lightning F.6, XR725/A, 23 Sqdn, RAF Leuchars, September 1968.

Hi Ratch,

one doesn't see many Trumpeter Lightnings these days. I have heard ad nauseam of the kit's foibles at the rear, etc. But when all is said and done, it still looks like a Lightning to me. And yours is particularly scrumptious in its NMF coat.

So congrats for a great looking model!!!

Keep having fun.

Had the same Trump kit bulit years ago and dressed her up with Saudi Arabian markings.I really enjoyed putting it together except for one...the wings small wheel cover!Trump did a big mess there but luckily with reference pictures,I managed to correct it.The small wheel cover should not be facing front!
