Unfinished project
Good afternoon I am looking for a little advice, has anyone had any experience with the decals from this kit? They are from a new kit with the decals still in the bag. When using them several of the decals struggled to separate from the backing and even though the kit had been glossed and also using Micro Set and Micro Sol they just refuse to stick to the kit. I have stuffed it away in disgust and have started to look for other decal options. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Stef
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Since its an academy kit you could try really hot water ? The Asian decals come with a thicker stronger glue that releases better with very hot water. When i built the Academy phantom this worked. The only decal that got messed up was my fault. I moved it after Microsol was applied and it shredded. I hope this helps you ? Dennis

The decals just seemed to have lost all their adhesive qualities I think I’ll just try to pick up an aftermarket set. Regards Stef
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Hmmm sorry to hear that. The rogers are a popular unit so it shouldnt be hard to find an A/M set for there SuperBugs.
stevehnz
If you have Klear or an equivalent, try bedding your decals with that, it will stick them down & suck them into the surface detail as it does so. Try a google search for this on BM, its been written up several times. Steve.
